Need ideas!

We are a family of 5..........dh, me, dd17, dd15, and ds5. We are trying to come up with a gift that can bring us together for some family time thru out the year. I like the idea of going to Great Wolf Lodge, but for the price we could get a wii or something. However, Im not sure that the wii would get played that much. Maybe in the beginning, but I think eventually it would just get dusty. I hate to spend that much money on something for it just to sit there.

We live in a rural community, so no movie theaters, musuems, etc. So I'd like your help.

we love board games...we (when we had kids at home) designated Tuesday as FAmily Game Night.

I'm BIG on family fun. We love to do stuff together, but my kids are only 6 and 4 and haven't really discovered the world of friends yet. Anyway, how about some season passes to your favorite places. We belong to Longwood Gardens in PA and we go a lot. It's a lovely, special place. And we also belong to the zoo. So, maybe something like a local museum, zoo, or garden that you love? Even if you have to drive an hour, the membership often is cheaper in two visits.

Also, I suggest looking at free stuff to do. We got into Dutch Wonderland free last night with new toy donations. We have free tickets to a great Christmas party in town. We're going to Pottery Barn Kids today for a free Duplo event. Every time I see a free, fun event, I write down the date. We keep busy on a very small entertainment budget.

We also just bought to Wii for my and DH's XMas gift. Hope it's as fun as I hear!

What about an air hockey or pool table? If there's a sport you all enjoy you could buy everyone equipment for that like bikes, ice or roller skates, skis, bowling balls, etc.
