Need Hilton Head info.....

Hi - I don't mean to sound ignorant since Hilton Head is my home resort!... but just wanted to get some scoop on the resort... What restaurants do you suggest?... What to do with the kids?.. (my daughter will be 5, son will be 2). Things like that, etc. etc..

My husband bought DVC years ago and bought HH as a suprise for me. We have been there once like 4 years ago just for me to relax after having my daughter. We usually go to Florida. I know the suggestion on the board is to buy where you will go the most but at that time I guess hubby bought where it was cheaper... (since it was a suprise - I couldn't put in my two cents)...

HHI resort is wonderful. We have been 4 times during the holidays, once in April and once in July. The resort is at Shelter Cove marina with shops and some good restaurants(Scott's fish Market and the Mexican one..sorry). The resort has many activities for kids and adults-marsh explorations, goofy bingo, dolphin cruises, kids night out, BBQ, for example(many more depending on season). The main pool is nice with a slide and there is a beach house(across the main road about 1.5 miles from resort) that you can drive or bike to or take their shuttle. The beach is beautiful, huge and you can ride bikes on it. The beach house has another pool, small arcade, restaurant(take out, but good), lounge and TV living room. Your kids will have a great time and so will you! We loved it so much that we added on points there in 2002.

Hilton Head Diner is practically next door to the Disney resort. It is an excellent diner. It is a convenient place to go with the kids. We have eaten there for both breakfast and dinner and the food has always been very good. Have a great trip!

Thanks Annette.... I will keep the diner in mind. Like I said in my original post, I have been to the HH resort but for a short time and that was awhile ago.... I kind of wish they had a restaurant at the hotel even though Shelter Cove is right there...
