Need help with Peter Gabriel "In Your Eyes" song

There is a special version that plays on the radio sometimes that I enjoy,.

There is a real deep voiced gentleman singing in the background and the ending is different.

Anyone know if there is a name for this special version. I can't find it on itunes.

I've never noticed different versions, but check Peter Gabriel's CDs and also the Say Anything soundtrack.

There is a different version by Jeffery Gaines. It might be the one you are thinking of.

I love that song, but I must admit I don't like the remix cover. Not as good as Peter. Just give me the orginal any time. I think briannesmom is right about how it is though.

Are you talking about the extended version where the person speaks in African language --I think Swahili? There is the regular radio version without much Swahili and the CD/MP3 version that does have the Swahili. (I'm just saying Swahili for simplicity sake)

It is on the SO Cd, if that helps you. Sometimes the movie soundtracks differ from actual album cuts, so you would be better off going straight to the So album. That so album came out in either 86/87 time frame if that helps.


This is one of my favorite songs ever--I even voted for that to be my prom song way back in the day.

The "special mix" version with more vocals from Youssou N'dour can only be found on the B-Side of the single of the same title and "Don't Give Up".

Peter is notorious for making many versions of his songs. One of my favorites, "Shaking The Tree", has at least ten.

No, Ione Skye was in Say Anything. The Sure Thing is a completely different movie. I just watched Say Anything last weeks. Oh, it's so good!

THere is a live version of In Your Eyes with Youssou N'dour from the concert video POV. I have a mp3 or it, if you are interested in getting it let me know. It is incredible.
