Hi. Have been several times but first time with FP+. We're staying the last week of Aug and leaving right after Labor Day. Planning on 2 MK days. Now that the hours have changed, it throws me a bit off with my FP+ planning.

Our first MK day is Wed, 8/27 and the second is Sun, 8/31 (now with PM EMH until 2am). My kids are 8 and 5 so I doubt they'll be staying up much past midnight but that's the night of our BOG dinner res so can't really switch it. My FP+ window opens tomorrow. My question -

1) Am I better off planning on rides the first MK day since Wed is typically slow, save the 2nd day for FP for things like MSEP and Wishes and maybe even FoF since those will likely be crowded? I'm not staking out a spot 2hrs in advance, and they're little so need to be towards the front to see.

OR

2) Make sure to watch the parades and shows the first MK day when it's slower and then use that time to ride while everyone else is watching the shows?

Going to MK on Sun of Labor Day weekend may be packed enough but now with the EMH extending the day, I'm a little concerned.

Thanks!!

EMH was added for that Saturday AND Sunday from midnight - 2am. Just checked and MSEP isn't even scheduled (yet) for my 1st MK day so I guess I need to plan on it for the 2nd!

My first park day is the same as yours and my second is that Saturday the 30th. My plan of attack with FPs tonight is to book any rides on SDMT at 1am and TSMM at DHS. Those should be the priorities. Then I will fill in with any other headliners that usually don't fill up overnight when I get up tomorrow.

As for how I'm tackling the 2 days, like you noted there is no MSEP on Wednesday, so the park should be less crowded. I plan on riding, riding and more riding with my DS3. Hit all the headliners that he can go on, sneak a few in for me etc. Also I plan on seeing Wishes on this day instead of Saturday. This day will be all about go-go-go for us (Aside from the 3 hour hotel break midday ;) )

Saturday will be more crowded, but I still don't think it will be that insane (TP has it as a 4) but that day I plan on having a more relaxed approach using my FP+ on rides I know will be my son's favorites (Like Buzz) even though they typically aren't near the wait times of the headliners. Just get him in what I hope he likes (Thinking Buzz, Peter Pan, Pirates). Also plan to use this day to meet characters, do some shopping and just enjoying the MK especially the MSEP. I plan on watching the MSEP from Frontierland where many people say you can find a good seat within 20 minutes of the parade because everyone wants to be on Main St. to see Wishes too (But we already did Wishes on Wednesday!) This way we don't have to stake out ground for too long and may even sneak in a ride or two on Standby while everyone else is watching Wishes, before heading back to the hotel.

Buzz is right about Frontierland. My niece and her daughter saw FOF Parade with no problem from Frontierland. Many people go to Main Street for the parades. That leaves Frontierland less crowded.
You could split and do Wishes on Wed with a FP and then MSEP on Sunday from Frontierland.

I actually went this same week last year, it's my favorite time of year to go. My kids are 5 and 8 so I'm def planning on FP+ for SDMT both days. Def MSEP the 2nd day. And I was going to knock A&E the first day but since E was out yesterday am thinking to maybe book both days and then switch the 2nd day for a mountain. I like your approach though and it was definitely one I've been considering!

I was thinking to use a FP+ for Splash in the afternoon, about 2ish, then drying off with a snack while waiting for the FoF parade in Frontierland. Do you know what time it passes through over there?

I would love to know this too- any ideas when the FofF parade hits Frontierland?
