need help with dinners!!!

we are going to disney for 14 days.we have a condo for the first week and the second week we are at the pop century.we will be eating all of our breakfeast right in the condo or at the room.i need help with dinners.i see by all the post that it will be costing alot to eat out.does anybody have some good ways to help keep the cost down.2 adults and 2 children.the children real dont eat alot of food.pick eaters.any help would be greatful.maybe some 2for1 dinners.or any ideas would be great to.as thus will be my first time going to disney.just a little confushed about how much it will cost.any would like to have a little money to spend on what ever i wanted to buy.ever little bit saved helps .

If your kids are light eaters they will probably be able to split a childrens meal or just share off your plate at most meals.

There aren't any 2 for 1's that I'm aware of but the AK has a meal deal where you can basically buy a meal voucher and get a free soda and popcorn or ice cream later in the day. You have to buy the voucher at guest services at the front gate on your way in.

Stay away from character meals, they are expensive.

Some places are known for large servings. 50's Prime Time and the Plaza Restaurant are two moderately priced places that have large portions.

Eat a late lunch and then just get a snack for dinner. Many restaurants offer the same menu at lunch and dinner, but the prices are much higher at dinner.

Avoid alcohol, appetizers, and desserts. All three can really raise your tab.

A few counter service places are pretty good and have more than burgers and chicken nuggets. Cosmic Rays in the MK, The Food Court at teh Land Pavillion in Epcot, Yakitori House in Japan at Epcot, the Cantina in Mexico in Epcot, and the Tusker House in the AK are all good and have a varied selection.

While you are staying offsite, if you can eat a large bkfast, then a late lunch, maybe you could do take out for dinner. A pizza or one of the family places like Golden Corrral and Sizzler are not expensive. You might want tio pick up one of the discount books available at the restaraunts and at the airport. There are usually a bunch of good offsite food coupons in there for the cheap food chains. The Entertainment book and internet coupons are good, as well as stopping at the supermarkets and SuperWalmart. I know the Costco and BJ's in NY have a small, inexpensive food counter. Maybe the ones in Florida do also. Connections vouchers are good for some of the counter svc places, but you can only save $ at a few.
