need help with changing reservation at the 7 month window

We will be making our first trip as dvc members in June 07. We have a 1 bedroom booked at saratoga springs for 10 days. We will be inviting family to go and are now leaning to a 2 bedroom at boardwalk or beach. I was hoping for boardwalk standard to save some points. can any one let me know of the possibility of getting a standard 2 bedroom the first 10 days in june. I have read in the past that the standard studios go fast. I was wondering if the 2 bedrooms standards are just as popular.

It's possible but probably not. Keep in mind that there are no dedicated 2 BR's at BWV. So 2 BR's are the most difficult SV to get - if all studios are gone then there are no 2BR's either. That's why the 1 BR SV is the most likely SV available at 7 months. I booked a SV studio for this October right at 11 months and made the mistake of not calling day by day. I was lucky to get the last one (therefore there were no 2 BR's available after my booking either). During busy times, SV's are booked by 10 months 3 weeks. You'll have better luck in Jan May and Sept.

This is why many add-on at BWV, BCV, VWL. Over time points migrate to owners who want to use them to secure ressies before 7 months.

I'd give it a shot, but wouldn't count on it. With the length of your trip (10 days), there's a possibility/probably that not all the days will be available. You can always waitlist day by day, but that leaves the chance that you'll have a to move a couple of times during your stay.

I'd call at 7 months and try it. If not available, I'd waitlist the entire thing and hope. Worst case, you stay at SSR which is a nice "worst case scenario".
