Need Help with Bus Travel Between Parks/Hotels

We are going at the end of August thanks to YMP Code published in our newspaper.

This will be our first time doing complete travel by buses. We usually rent a car. With the free dining, we would like to try different restaurants that we have never done before. For example, if we are at AK and we want to go to AKL for dinner, how would we go there and back to our own hotel ASMovies. From MK to WL and back to our hotel

I had seen a link before for a chart that showed how you would go and how long it would take you to travel to different hotels and parks via the bus system but I can not locate it now.

Hi Chuck,

I'm sure someone can help you with the link, but basically what you need to know is there is no direct WDW bus service between resorts. In most cases you must change at a park or at DTD.

There are exceptions, such getting to WL/GF/Poly/CR, where you can take the bus to the MK and then monoril/launch/walk to the resort, depending which one. Also, for the Epcot Resorts (BW, Y&BC, Swan and Dolphin) you can take a bus to the Studios and walk or take a boat to the resort.

And then there is the easiest (must most expensive) way to get from resort to resort: take a taxi!

One other question, if our dinner is over and just for instance, we came from the Magic Kingdom and the park is closed, can we still get back to MK and back to our hotel or do we have to go to DTD and then back to our hotel?

part of your answer depends on where you went to eat. If you eat at one of the monorail resorts, you can still get back to the MK using the monorail. It also depends on how much after the park has closed that you need a ride back to your resort. The buses do eventually stop going to the parks, once everyone is out, so if it is real late, you will need to go to DTD or take a taxi
