Help PLEASE! We are driving down in ten days and I am getting confused about the directions once we enter Florida. We are actually coming from northern Indiana and taking our time, spending Friday night south of Indianapolis and then heading on to stay south of Atlanta on Saturday so we can arrive refreshed on Sunday afternoon :thumbsup2 I am all good with directions until we get off of 75, but then different sites (mapquest, google, yahoo) give me different directions. They all get on Florida's Turnpike, but get all goofy from there. This is heading to POR, if it matters. Can someone please help me figure out which of these three is the best/easiest/most correct way of getting there :confused3

mapquest:
1. Start out going SOUTH on WOODCREST BLVD toward WATSON BLVD/GA-247 CONN. (go 0.1 miles)
2. Turn RIGHT onto WATSON BLVD/GA-247 CONN W. (go 5.8 miles)
3. Merge onto I-75 S via the ramp on the LEFT toward VALDOSTA (Crossing into FLORIDA). (go 290.5 miles)
4. Merge onto FLORIDA'S TURNPIKE S via EXIT 328 on the LEFT toward ORLANDO (Portions toll). (go 40.1 miles)
5. Take the SR-429-TOLL S exit, EXIT 267A, toward TAMPA. (go 0.9 miles)
6. Merge onto FL-429 TOLL S/DANIEL WEBSTER WESTERN BELTWAY (Portions toll). (go 2.0 miles)
7. Take the CR-535 exit, EXIT 19, toward WINTER GARDEN VINELAND RD. (go 0.3 miles)
8. Merge onto STONEYBROOK WEST PKWY. (go 0.1 miles)
9. Turn LEFT onto CR-535 S/WINTER GARDEN VINELAND RD. (go 2.9 miles)
10. Turn LEFT to stay on CR-535 S/WINTER GARDEN VINELAND RD. (go 7.6 miles)
11. Turn RIGHT onto VISTA BLVD. (go 1.2 miles)
12. Turn LEFT onto BONNET CREEK PKWY/BONNET CREEK RD. (go 0.6 miles)
13. Turn LEFT onto ORLEANS DR (Gate access required). (go 0.1 miles)
14. Turn LEFT to stay on ORLEANS DR. (go 0.1 miles)
15. Turn RIGHT onto RIVERSIDE DR. (go 0.2 miles)
16. 1251 RIVERSIDE DR is on the RIGHT. (go 0.0 miles)

It's been AGES since I've driven down 75 to the world, but I think I can spot the key differences between the directions.

Mapquest and Yahoo are both taking you into the new western entrace to the resort, whereas Google has you remaining on the turnpike to I-4 and coming in the east side.

I'd personally say the I-4 way may be the least stressful way in since POR is over on the eastern side of the resort property, so less snaking your way along the Disney resort roads. Basically, it's Turnpike to I-4 (towards Tampa), to Disney. You could exit off the main EPCOT exit and just follow the signs to the Downtown Disney Resorts/POR.

the other Option is the turnpike to 429 to Western Way which bring you into the resort closer to Animal Kingdom. You then would follow signs towards the DTD resorts. You'll hit a lot more lights, and resort traffic this way however, and could potentially make things a bit more "stressful" if you aren't extremely familiar with driving around the Disney property.

A lot of the mapquest and gps units take you in backwater and what not, and you end up missing the Disney welcome sign. We followed gps last time just to see and we lost out on the sign excitement. I would take the turnpike to 4, then exit the disneyworld exit, so you can see sign, if that's important to you if you have kids. I think the epcot downtown Disney exit you don't see sign. Once on property everything is well marked with arrows pointing to all resorts and parks. Very easy to get around.

The EPCOT exit (Exit 67 off I-4) does have a huge overhead entrance sign too. It's the previous exit 68 (Lake Buena Vista) that does not have that huge sign. I agree....use the I-4 routing.

Seeing the sign really isn't any big deal to us. I am the only one who would find that at all exciting in my family, and if there's an easier way to get there that would get us there more quickly after driving that far, I could live without seeing the sign ;)

Thanks, this does sound like the way to go (I-4). The only thing throwing me off was that the other directions off 429 (both were taking us off at different exits and going different routes from there) came in closer to 5:30 travel time, and the route off I-4 was listed at over 6 hours. I'm not sure if Sunday afternoon traffic at the resort would slow us down more taking one route or the other. This will be our third day of driving and at this point I'm sure DS is going to be whining "Let's be all done!" (his version of "are we there yet??"

We drive 75 through Georgia and go the Yahoo way. I-4 can have a lot of congestion and accidents often. You save 20-30(sometimes more) minutes getting off at 429 and taking it to Hartzog Rd. The turnpike signage shows exit 267 for the Western Beltway (429) as the Disney exit.
Once you are off, watch the speed limit signs. They are really low and cops are out often to give tickets.
So, you want to get off the the FL turnpike at exit 267. You will be on it for about 11 miles and there is a $1.25 tollbooth along the way. Exit 8 is the Hartzog Rd/Disney exit. Go slowly and follow the signs to your resort.
Enjoy your trip!

I MUCH prefer 429S and Western Way. Very little traffic!!

I-75 S

Get off at exit 328 (approximately 140 miles from Georgia/Florida State Line, approximately 107 miles from I-10)

Travel on Florida Turnpike to Exit 267A (429S) (approximately 42 miles)

Travel on 429S to Exit 8 (Disney World/Hartzog Rd) (approximately 14 miles)

This road will take you to West Buena Vista Dr near Coronado Springs.

Turn left on West Buena Vista, then turn left again at Bonnett Creek Parkway, then turn right into POR.

Tolls on the main Turnpike will be $2.50 for a standard vehicle. (More if pulling a trailer).

Tolls on 429S to Disney World will be just $1.25 as the Disney World Exit doesn't appear to charge a toll.

(I based the mileage on the exit numbers as they coincide with mile markers).
