Need help understanding Transfer of Points

I have not been able to locate this information on the member site. I have 119 points remaining in my December 2013 use year, 5 of which are borrowed, because we've had to cancel a reservation. I am beyond my banking deadline. In addition to renting them, what are my transferring options? I also have an April use year. All of my contracts are at OKW. Thank you for any help. We've been members for 21 years, but I've never had to consider this option before.

You can transfer to another member current use year points but not banked or borrowed points. Transferred points retain the use year and home resort identity of the transferor. The recipient can bank them after transfer but only if your banking window is still open.

Thus, if you could find someone who would do the transfer, you could transfer to them your Dec 2013 points but not the borrowed Dec 2014 points, and the recipient would need to use the transferred points for a trip that ends no later than Nov 30, 2014. Thus, you need to find someone who wants the points for a trip that will take place soon and that person is not going to accept a transfer unless there is actual room availability for the time they want to go, and that could be unlikely this far beyond the seven month reservation window.

Since you have two use years, it is the same as if you are two members. You could thus transfer the points to your April use year but the restrictions would be same (you could transfer only current Dec 2013 points, they would retain their Dec use year, and they would have to be used by Nov 30).

I recall reading here that (at least at some time in the past) MS would allow the recipient of transferred points to bank them after the transfer was completed even if it was past the normal banking deadline for those points. It might be worthwhile to call MS and ask them about that because if it's still the case then whoever you transfer the points to would have until Nov 30, 2015 to use them.

I also thought that you have to transfer points into the same UY, in other words if you are transferring 2013 UY points they have to go into the recipient's 2013 UY. If so, that might limit you to transferring points only to those who are still in their 2013 UY (those with a Sep, Oct or Dec UY).

One other option might be available: MS has been known to grant a one-time-only super secret exception to those who did not bank their points by the deadline. Since you are not long past your deadline, you might be able to use this one-time exception to bank the 114 Dec 2013 UY points.
