Need Help Stalking Airfares

I'm trying to find direct flights for October (I know some carriers haven't posted fares this far ahead yet), and I'm having a hard time setting up automatic fare alerts. Everything I've looked at, or have had recommended so far keeps sending me back to Orbitz, Travelocity, or Kayak...which don't seem to list direct flights from the airports I'm looking at. I know they exist, 'cause I've found them on the carrier's own sites. Is there a way to set up automatic fare alerts for specific airlines? Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure if it will be exactly what you are looking for but try entering your dates and preferences at Airfare Watchdog. I did and it seems like I never stop getting emails from them

Don't know what airports you are looking at but I've had very good experience with Kayak.

Be aware that "direct" and "nonstop" are not the same thing.

We're looking at leaving from Pittsburgh, BWI, Reagan, or Dulles and don't want any connections. Every time I've attempted an alert I just get bounced to the sites I mentioned in the original post, which have given me nothing but flights with one to three connections! The funniest one I found involved four planes, 12 hours, and was $1,000 a head each way! I have found direct flights from point A to point B, and these are all major airports so three connections (and that price) seems more than a little ridiculous. I know I could just keep checking the individual airlines' sites, but I was hoping to set up automatic alerts to save a little time. Thanks for any advice you can give!

I just tried setting up an alert on Kayak and was able to do that with no problem. Not sure where the OP is going wrong.

Those are the airports we fly from too we are in WV. I always find PITT most expensive. Only lucked out once or twice. We just got decent rates on JetBlue out of Regan. Nonstop at decent times. Airtran has non stop from there as well. Southwest usually has best fares from BWI. Lots of times to choose from. Last time we got a good deal on united from Dulles. It can be a game! Lol
I use kayak, chepoair and watchdog to be alerted and see what flights seem tbe best. I then buy from the airline directly.

I like using yapta.com. There is at least one airline, that I know of, that doesn't work with them though and you have to check them separately (Southwest). Yapta will email you alerts when the airfare changes on flights you are tracking. I've had good luck using them while planning my trips.
