I need opinions to help me decide where to go. I have ressies for both SOG and POP. I have the MYW dining plan for POP so I really want to go there. But SOG is really more in my price range. I just need to hear your impressions of these resorts. I need to make my decission within the next 45 days. We are scheduled to arrive in WDW in about 100 days. Please Help!

i don't know what your military grade is, but even at the most expensive, isn't sog the same price or less than pop? myw plan will make pop more expensive...but do you really think that if you stay at sog that you will eat every meal there? usually the only meals we ate there were breakfast & we ate dinner/lunch at the parks or other hotels.

i can't tell you what to do, but if you've stayed at sog, you know the rooms are bigger than pop...i've not stayed at pop but i think it's not as nice (From the outside)....some people talk about disney theming but (for me) all of the value resorts lack it......yes, movies has characters, etc...but at the end of a long day, i want a big room to relax in without falling over my hubby & 3 kids...just my opinion.

SOG is a wonderful resort. Huge clean rooms within short walking distance of the Poly and monorail.
Where's POP? :confused3

Personally I think its the difference between a motel and a hotel. SoG is considered a deluxe resort. It used to be one of Disney's deluxe resorts. The money you will save in room rate, 11% tax, crowds, walking distance to the Poly, etc make it a no brainer for me. POP or any of the lower end Disney hotels hold absolutely no appeal for me.

There is a new code for active duty that came out today. It's for stays from 8/1-10/4. EXJ is the code for stays of 1-6 nights at 30% off and EXK is for 7 or more nights at 40% off.

SOG has wonderful transportation. That is enough reason to stay there. We went resort hopping last visit while searching for pressed coins. I could not believe how crowded the buses were for the All Stars. Made me want to NEVER stay there. Of course, it is same price as SOG, so the decision was easy for us.

Do you have to stay at a Disney hotel to get the Meal plan? We too, only ate breakfast and a few late night burger/fries type meals at SOG (Evergreens)....everything else was Disney. I doubt you would want to commit yourself to an SOG package...if that is what you were thinking.

You can get one AP and get 20% of off most sit down Disney Dining which can be a plus.

You can not add the dining plan if you stay at Shades of Green, after talking to 5 or 6 people someone was able to at least let me know that much when I called.

Thank you for the Discount code. I called CRO and they gave me some great offers for the moderate resorts. :cool1: I hope they are better then the Value.

We had planned on only eating breakfast at SOG. So we would need to buy all our other food At Disney places. I had thought about buying one AP for food discounts. These are lots of great ideas, Thanx!

I would stay at the SOG. The resort is really beautiful, close to the magic kingdom and transportation. The food at the SOG is relativaly cheap when compared to WDW, and the italian restuarant at the SOG is wonderful. They even have a coffee shop by the bus stop in the SOG that has delicious and cheap breakfast sandwiches and hot drinks. The bar/casual restaurant by the pool is a great place to catch a late dinner or poolside snack. Remember too that there is no tax on the rooms, etc. which cuts about 15% off comparable accomodations at WDW.

I have stayed at the All-Stars resort and although the theming was fun for the kids the accomodations are much smaller. The bathrooms are tiny compared to SOG. Each room at the SOG has a couch or day bed along with two queen beds AND a table.
