We're staying offiste this trip - looking for a little advice :)

We're using either www.afvclub.com or www.govarm.com, depending on which resort we choose. I know that AFVC is through RCI, does anyone know about GovArm? It's the www.condodirect.com website - is that II? Will it make a difference which one I go through, as far as resort choice, if the price is the same? The only resort that I'm interested (right now) in that shows up on both sites is Cypress Point.

I'm narrowed down to the following:

Silver Lake - the older section (2BR) - we have friends that own there, they've never had a bad stay. We stayed in the Silver Points section in 2004 - in a 3BR that was HUGE. I've not personally seen the older section, though. Have the pools been updated since 2004?

Vistana Villages - (2BR)
Cypress Point (phase 2) - (2BR)

I know both those resorts consistently get rave reviews. They are both a little pricier than Silver Lake, but not out of my budget at all.

We have 3 kids - 5, 11, 17. All love to swim, and we will be spending some down time at the resort this trip.

thanks for any suggestions :)

I've only stayed at CPGV and Vistana Village. Don't know if this would influence your choice, but in the 2nd bedroom the beds at CPGV are twin, while at Vistana Village they are full or even queen (sorry I don't remember). Both have sofa beds in the living room.

that's good to know - ultimately, it won't make that much difference, I don't think (not a deal breaker, anyway). My youngest DD will likely sleep on an air mattress on the floor in the master, and the boys will split up between the bed and the sleeper sofa.

Have stayed at all 3 in the past and they are all nice. That being said, I would prefer Vistana Villages. The pool area just seemed to be a little more upscale to me...maybe it was the landscaping.

Silver Lake is in a great location, but when we were there the whole condo had mirrors all over. Totally disconcerting to me. It made the condo feel very cold and uninviting. But that was a couple years ago so they may have changed the units since then.

Cypress Pointe was also very nice and we loved the condo. But when I compare the resorts I just feel like Vistana Villages was a little bit nicer.

I think wherever you go, though, you would be pleased with.

Have a great trip.

I had heard that about Silver Lake - and that does sound like it would definitely take some getting used to. LOL. But, I found this room configuration and I'm very intrigued:
1BR units OCC: Max 6/Pri 4 have 2 baths, 1 king bed and 2 queen sleep sofas. That's like a 2-BR, but not exactly. LOL. And I can rent it for $309/week.

It's a tough decision - good to know they're all nice resorts!

Madge - That is a great price and the location is really great. It is near Animal Kingdom on the back entrance to Disney from Sherberth Road.

I saw that you have stayed at HGVC. That would be more like the Vistana Villages.

Also...you can check reviews on www.tripadvisor.com.

OK. for whatever reason, the price has dropped on the Vistana 2BR, it will now be less than $500 (including taxes) and I think I'm going to book it. I know it's more than Silver Lake, but I think that it's going to be worth it.
