Need Help, Please--Update Page 3!

When should I go to WDW again with my DD?

  • May- 2 1/2 yr DD, good crowds and weather, will cost me more money

  • September- 3 yr DD, low crowds, terrible weather, will save me lots of money

  • October- 3 yr DD, good weather, heavier crowds, save money, MNSSHP

  • Other suggestion?

We went in Sept and Oct before kids got to school ages and the crowds were nonexistant. I don't remember either as being bad weather-wise but we didn't swim in Oct so I'm thinking it wasn't all that warm. I chose September but I'm curious as to how/why you're going without your two sons? My kids would be some kind of ticked if I went to WDW without them.

lol The boys are getting their own trip in two years. They chose to go to Busch Gardens and Virginia Beach next summer (the whole family will go), then I am taking DD to Disney in the fall, and I'll take the boys to Disney and Universal/IOA in June of 2006. They had fun at Disney but didn't love it as much as I did, I guess. They want to go back, but would rather go to the beach again first.

I voted for October...Celebrating her 3rd birthday there would be a wonderful memory!! My youngest turns 1 on our next trip, we think that is SO COOL!!! :):)

I voted for October! I think your dd will get so much more out of it being a bit older!

I have gone in September in 4 times and have never had "terrible" weather.

It is a great savings, low crowds. Fantastic time to go.

I voted for October. We have been 4 times mid-late October and have had great weather and low crowds. DS was 3 when we went last year and he had a blast!!!:sunny:

Have a good trip whenever you go!

Thanks to all for your votes and suggestions. I am leaning towards October, but does anyone who's been at that time have any suggestions for what to do on Columbus Day? I'm sure the MK would be a "not so good" choice, but what? Would Epcot be okay, or still too crowded? How about MGM? Water Park? TIA

:Pinkbounc Any more opinions/suggestions? Especially for Columbus Day?

I've definitely narrowed it down to September or October, probably October. ??? I really hate to deal with larger crowds, but cooler weather is a definite plus in my book. I also think MNSSHP sounds like fun, and the princess tea would be a great birthday gift for DD. Another consideration, if recent trends continue, there haven't been AP discounts offered in September, but they have been offered in October. That could potentially save me a good bit of money...I'd need it to pay for that princess tea, LOL. princess:

Here's another vote for October. Weather is much better and the crowds really aren't that bad. But the biggest reason for chosing October was for your DD - having a Bday in WDW! What a wonderful opportunity!

October it is!!! Thanks to all of you for your suggestions and advice. DD's next trip after this one will definitely be early December to see the decorations and catch MVMCP. If I keep on planning I'll have her vacations scheduled through college, LOL.

DH thinks the Princess Tea Party sounds like the perfect "birthday activity" for me to do with DD. princess:

Thanks again...I just LOVE the DIS! ::yes::

I was talking with one of my coworkers who is pretty much a WDW expert (he goes all the time). He told me around Columbus day is actually a great time to go. Low crowds, great weather, plus I think they do the Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween for all of Oct.

If it's your DDs bday, you may want to do some additional investigating to see what special things the World does for that.

Oh, my...I have way too much time to plan...soon I'll have to sell things to pay for my trip! LOL I've been gathering info here on the boards the last couple of days and I think I've decided to go with October for sure, Columbus Day week and DD's birthday included. I'm thinking that for her birthday (Saturday) I'll give her a nice big box with a large pink bow...containing an Aurora dress and an invitation to the GF Princess Tea Pary with Aurora. Maybe we'll use Columbus Day as a "rest" day and go to Fort Wilderness and then the Hoop De Doo Review. I think she would enjoy the petting farm and pony rides and maybe the wagon ride after the Hoop De Doo. I will also be sure to fit one of the MNSSHP in there too! Thank you!

I did it! I just made my reservation for October 8-17, 2005 at POFQ...I also made a reservation for the Hoop De Doo Review on Columbus Day. I think DD and I will avoid the Columbus Day park crowds by heading over to explore Fort Wilderness and enjoying our dinner and show! :sunny:

Sounds great!!!:sunny: Have a good trip!

I am hoping to be there in October too, but it remains to be seen. Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed.
