Hi! Thanks in advance to any and all who can answer my dumb questions....I'm so new to all of this! :worship:

We're booked at the Beach Club 9/21 - 9/28, :goodvibes but are actually arriving into MCO at 9:30 on Friday night (9/20). While I would love to just go ahead and book another night at the BC...we're staying Club Level and in a Deluxe Room....I think another night at that cost may cause a DH stroke out! Oh and we're a family of 5...Me, DH, DD (15), DD (10) and DS (4).

So with that background, here are my dumb questions...

~Can I just booke a Value for that Friday night? Can a standard room accomodate 5 of us for just one night?

~If so, which one would be best, we're headed to AK in the morning on 9/21?

~Will they transfer our lugguage to BC?

~What about Dining/Park Tickets, etc...will any of that be effected doing a split stay?

~Does ME run that late from the airport?

Please educated me! :)

You would have to get a family suite at a value resort to fit a family of five. You could book a stay at the airport hotel and then get the Magical Express bus the first thing that next morning. Then you don't have to worry about transferring the luggage to the next resort, you just bring it with you on ME.

You would not be able to book a standard value room as they only accommodate 4 + 1 under the age of 3. The next least expensive option would be a room at POR. Whichever resort you choose, Disney will transfer your luggage to the BC; however, you will need to go to the BC and check in to get your KTTW cards with park tickets and DDP. With that said, you could get your park tickets on the 21st by going to guest relations at AK instead of checking in at the BC as you can get park tickets up to 3 days prior to the start of a package, but your DDP won't be accessible until you check in at the BC. DME runs 24/7, with luggage retrieval stopping at 10 pm. Anyone arriving after 10 pm must get their own luggage. HTH :).

I do this all of the time. I would recommend staying in a moderate. I take ME to either POR or POFQ for the first night. You can have them move your luggage for you to BC while you go to the park if you want. I usually take a taxi to my next resort to try and check in early. I've had decent luck with that but if your room isn't ready you can just have them store your luggage while you go to the parks.

This lets you explore other resorts without committing to a longer stay.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like we're going to have a bit of back and forth no matter which option we choose. But I'm leaning toward getting on property Friday night, so I'm thinking POR or POFQ will be my best option!

As always you guys are a wealth of information, thank you, thank you!

Hi. With a family of 5, you can't do POFQ, only POR for a moderate.

Since you're getting in so late, you don't need tickets or dining or anything. Make a room only reservation for Friday and have DME bring your luggage. Get up the next morning and have your luggage transferred to your hotel and take a taxi, or do bus transfers to get to your new resort. Check in and go enjoy the day.

Pack everything you'll need for that first day in a carry-on - toiletries, change of clothes, pajamas, etc. so you'll have what you need right away.

Ask your DH if he wants to do all of that running around...you might be surprised! Guessing if you can afford BC CL Deluxe room, one more night isn't going to be a huge % change in your total vacation cost.

If you want to do running around, then take the taxi, bring your own luggage, and check into CL in the AM. You can enjoy some breakfast, and be on your way : )

OR consider just dropping down to BC Club level (drop the deluxe), and that might offset the price of the additional night!

I just like to have a great smooth start to my vacation, and checking in, enjoying a dessert (at CL), and an easy morning the next day sounds sooooo much better than all of that packing/unpacking/moving around on Day 1/2.

Also...I thought the CL Deluxe rooms aren't on the same floor as the club...just saying that it might be worth reconsidering that choice.

Only caveat might be the time of arrival. If I'm arriving at 8:00 or later I bring my bags along with me on DME. Otherwise they might be caught up in limbo land.

Letsgoreds - I'm thinking the same thing now....it's only money right! :) I'll just let it sink in a bit. LOL

If relying on Disney transportation, I would just book a regular room at YC or BC for that one night. That way, the next morning you can just check into your new room, have them hold your things, go grab breakfast at CL (they will let you, we have checked into CL at 7:30 am) and be off to AK. Saves a few bucks but with minimal inconvenience.
