Hi Everyone!!

I have never been to England. Could someone recommend places to stay and what area to stay in, that would be safe and convenient for an elderly woman and a teenage girl to stay in London? Hopefully not too pricy. I have no intention of driving while I'm there, so what is the best way to get around?

I'm thinking mid July for our trip. We plan to do the typically touristy things.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

Hi
I absolutely love London and visit regularly. IMHO central London is pretty safe for women travelling alone, I do all the time. Two of my recent stays have been at Holiday Inn Kensington Forum and Thistle Marble Arch I would be happy to recommend either and they are fairly priced. A good chain with nice, fairly priced accommodation is www.premiertravelinn.com
There are so many attractions, museums and theatres to choose from. These websites are packed with information www.londontown.com and www.virtualtourist.com. The former often has good discounts on accommodation.
Getting round London is very easy london transport I would also recommend doing one of bus tours to help you get your bearings.
Good luck

Tracy
