Need help planning trip. Any advice??

I am planning a 3 day Disney Wonder cruise that leaves on September 30, 2007 and having trouble working out an itinerary. We are arriving one day before and leaving the next day following the cruies. I promised my kids a stay at Nickelodeon Hotel and was considering checking in there after completing the cruise.

Any suggestions on what to do on the day we arrive: pros/cons of a rental cars and/ or hotel shuttles to get around: I thought about one day at Universal or Disney but I'm not too sure if I want to spend so much on one day tickets.

Bedside the major parks what other activites would you recommend -- children are 7 and 5 y/o and have been to Disney 3x and Universal once.

I don't have any flexibility with the dates so I don't have much to work with.

Any help will be appreciated.

You could Disney Quest ---still need tickets...but they are less than a day at a park.

Also...maybe mini-golf at Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens (is that the right name...brain drain) followed by lunch or dinner at one of the resorts.

Some places that would be fun for everyone would be:

Ohana's at the Poly
Chef Mickey's Character Dinner at the Contemporary
Rainforest Cafe at DTD
Cape May Clambake at the BeachClub Resort

This would kind of give you the Disney Magic without having to visit a park.
