I'm taking a friend down in Jan. 09 and we are staying with my DVC membership. I am an AP holder and having never purchased MYW tickets am not quite sure of the best way to get her ticket into the park.

We plan on staying 5 nights, 6 days so I'm thinking the MYW 6 days with parkhopping. Is it best to just purchase this when I make the reservation with DVC MS? Will her pass be on her room key? Or should I purchase the ticket somewhere else like the DS?

Any suggestions would be most welcome!!

Oh and any tips on what to show her would be appreciated as well. I've been down so many times, that I have my routine set and I'm afraid she might miss something.

I've already given her this and several other websites to view and a guidebook too. I've asked her to pick out things she wants to see/do, but she keeps saying she trusts me, which is great, but don't want her to be disappointed.

Thanks!!

Jen

If you buy the tickets from a reliable broker (Maple Leaf Tickets, Undercover Tourist, Ticket Mania), you can save some money. If you get the Mousesavers newsletter, there is a link for Undercover Tourist. I have used UT and didn't have any problems.

You can book the room by itself, or book the room as part of a package. You would not want the package given that you have an annual pass, unless there is some big bonus like free dining.

If you do book a package, a ticket of some kind must be purchased for each person in the room and these tickets must be ordered as the same kind for each person. After you get there, additional days can be added to any or all package tickets. Package tickets are combined with room keys. Those with AP's must be careful not to actually utilize the package ticket but rather save it for the future.

If you did not book a package, a ticket purchased elsewhere can be combined with a room key.

I got the same response from my parents when I saked them to go with us this year. But I look at it this way. All they have to compare it to is some local amusement parks near our hometown. Disney offers such a unique experience and I know my parents will be amazed at whatever we do and probabally not notice the things we didnt. Not saying I am not trying to make the trip special but I remember our first time we didnt see much at all and I absolutely loved it.

I'm assuming that you will be traveling to Disney World with your friend. Driving or flying. Use that time to talk about the attractions. Make sure she has her guidebook with her. Have her go through the guidebook and say what she thinks of each attraction. Then you can get her honest opinion and you can add comments if you want. It wouldn't seem like she's giving you a list of her favorites but rather just generally talking about things.
