We went to a restaurant that we enjoyed on our last trip. We can't remember what it was called so can't make a PS for this trip. Can you help?

On Main Street. On the left. Right across from some bathrooms. About 15 or 20 tables outside (presumably some inside too). No characters at lunch (who knows about other meals). The kids ordered a meal served on an artist's palette. It had chocolate chips, bananas, peanut butter, jelly, bread, etc. on it.

For some reason, I can't figure it out from the restaurant descriptions or the menu database. Do any of you happen to know?

Thanks!

When you state "on main st. on the left" are you facing Cindy's Castle? You have Casey's Corner, its a counter service hotdog stand. Further down is the Crystal Palace -- which now has a character luncheon, perhaps it wasn't a character luncheon back then.

Catheren,
Thanks for the quick response! It is on the left as you face the castle.

The thing that threw me off is that the description for Crystal Palace says that all meals are character meals. When we went to this restaurant last, the lunch was not a character lunch.

Did Crystal Palace used to have non-character meals? Or am I thinking of another restaurant?

Thanks!

The Crystal Palace, didn't always have character meals. Character meals were mainly at the resort hotels -- having them in the parks is new.

Was it a buffet? Or did servers come to your table?
I remember the CP having buffet lines.

The Crystal Palace doesn't have any tables outside, plus they have had Pooh and Pals at luch as long as I can remember - and it's a buffet. We first had lunch at the CP about five years ago and it was definately a character buffet at that time.

Casey's Corner has tables outside and is on the left, but it doesn't sound like what you are describing. It's a hotdog place.

Could it have been the Plaza Restaurant? It has tables outside, but it is on the right as you face the castle. It's at the very end of Main Street as you are walking toward the castle. They have great sandwiches, salads, fabulous icecream desserts, etc. We love to eat luch there. I don't know if they take priority seatings or not - we always just walk in.

Gem that is what I am thinking, the Plaza on the right.

Only other Main St restaurant is Tony's, its right when you walk into the park on the right.

Yep. I think it's gotta be the Plaza Restaurant. The only places to eat along Main Street are:

On the right as you walk toward the castle: Tony's, Main Street Bakery, Ice Cream Parlor, Plaza Restaurant

On the left as you walk toward the castle: Casey's Corner, Crystal Palace

I think I must have lost my mind. I would swear it was on the left. And it definitely had waiters and was not a buffet. And they did take priority seating reservations. And it's not a hotdog place. Good food - some sort of flaky fancy pot pie, good salads, etc.
Did I dream this???

I would have bet $100 that the restaurant exists just as I remember it. But when your responses made it quickly clear that I was wrong, I did some more checking. Sure enough, there it is, the Carnation Cafe, on the left on Main Street right as you walk in DisneyLAND. Oops! No wonder I couldn't track it down :)

Thanks for helping solve the mystery.

Guess I'll try the Plaza this time since it will be a long walk to the Carnation Cafe in California!
