So...I'm really bummed. I already booked my vacation at Pop including airlines for a October 25-October 31 based on historical free dining dates. Of course, free dining starts on the 26th this year.

Last year we booked Pop and upgraded to the disney dining plan which was equivalent to a savings of $331 dollars for the dining plan (5 night/6day) I'm trying to figure out if it would be financially worthwhile to call back and change my package reservations to October 26-31 with the free dining upgrade to the regular plan and book a separate room/park ticket for October 25, knowing that we will be paying out if pocket for our ADR at Coral Reef.

It it only saves us about $100, I'm not sure it's worth the hassle of checking out/checking in again....

If a RO discount comes out for my dates eventually, am I able to apply that to my current reservation?

Sorry, I normally work with a travel agent..I know some of these seem like elementary questions.

Thanks in advance for your help!

This may not be the answer you're looking for since I'm not entirely sure of your plans on the 25th, but..

Depending on your flight time/arrival time for the 25th, could you skip the parks that evening? Maybe have dinner at one of the resort restaurants instead, and avoid paying for that park day? Not sure how much it would change your plans around, but you'd save $$ not buying a ticket to the parks, potentially saving you more money.

I've considered that, but our flight arrives at MCO at 11:00am, so I can't imagine not going to a park that day!

At this point, I'm just trying to figure out what's the real cost difference is.

Thanks for your suggestion though! :flower3:

Can't you just book the FD package with the amount of tickets you actually want and then pick up the tickets early? Or is that not allowed anymore? :confused3

All you need to do is book two reservations, room only for the 25 and the free dining for the rest of your stay, you can buy however many days you want for the parks and begin using it on the 25th.
