I need your help:

I am going camping tomorrow at Massasoit state park, I was just told from a friend that the park had drained the pond and it was causing big mosquito problems.

I have tried to call the park itself I only get the answering machine, I have tried several other numbers, and no one knows how to get that info.

So does anyone here know if this is true or not?

One of the reasons we booked this camp ground was because of the swimming.

Thank You,
Meggan

I have no answer for you but I had to reply. When I was growing up we used to camp at Massasoit all the time! We would stay for weeks on end and my dad would just commute back and forth to work. I have such great memories of that place. In fact my sis and I were just talking about it the other day.
Its funny because when we went there they had nothing there. Therev was a lake, a small playground. No store, no activities, not even a soda machine or snack bar. But it was our favorite place! We would go up to point sebago once a year, but always wanted to go back to Massasoit! LOL

When we used to go there tho they had a big lake and then smaller ponds throughout the woods which had some great fishing. Its all different now with the dam and one big lake, right?

I can't imagine tho they would drain the pond if that is its only sorce of swimming!

Have fun and thanks so much for the "flashbacks" today...it really brightened up my mood! Have fun and say hi to the dog rock for me! LOL

I am so glad to brighten your day.

This will be our first trip to this park, so it makes me happy to hear that you have found memories of this campground. I really want my dd's to have wonderful memories of our vacations.

I just really hope that the information I have recieved is not correct. I am sure there are many other things for the girls to do, but they were really looking foward to going swimming.
