okay...well obviously this is not Lynn4Mel its her daughter. I'm doing my math fair topic on Disney World. I'm figuring out how many hours it takes to do all 4 parks. Including Ride times, wait times, how long shows are, and still allowing time to eat and get from attraction to attraction. So what i need from you.... is to tell me your wait times for all the rides you went on. This will help me so much with my project. I apreciate your help!!! :teeth:

Brianna,

You might try to get Len Testa's attention. He is an expert at the subject of timing in the parks. I've only been twice, so I'm not much help as far as this question goes. Good luck with the project! :teacher:

Not sure whether this would help as I don't have individual wait times but:

One 8 hour visit to MK with lunch break: managed to do: Carousel of Progress, Pooh, Small World, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Cinderella's Carousel, Buzz, River Boat.

One 8 hour visit to Epcot with lunch break (ca. 2000): managed to do: Yuletide fantasy (extra cost tour), Tapestry of dreams, Candlelight Processional, Millenium Village, Illuminations, Innoventions, Body Wars.

One 10 hour visit to Universal (both parks) with lunch break: managed to do: Hanna Barbera(?), Alfred Hitchcock, Kongfrontation, Caro-Seuss-el, Dinosaur exhibit, Poseidon, Accelatron, Twister, Seuss Circus.

I don't walk all that fast and often pause to look at scenery.

I'll try to dig up some other diaries of this kind I kept for some visits.

Related math topics:

On a few visits I watched as rides boarded and counted the number of riders per minute or per five minutes or whatever. From this I could estimate how many riders the ride can handle. Do you have an upcoming trip to Disney before your Math Fair project is due?

How about ticket buying strategies? Lots of math needed here! I dare say this would make a more interesting presentation to your classroom audience (or passers by at a fair booth).

For example: Under what circumstances should you not buy and use non-expiration tickets and why?

(You will probably find enough material on this subject without having to go into trading up of tickets where there are not enough equations and too many unknowns.)

I rarely get into a ride line if I think the wait will be more than 45 minutes, often I pass up that ride if I think the wait will be more than 30 minutes.

Brianna,

I bet you would get more replies if you provided a list of attractions. It will take people a long time to remember all of the rides they went on and then how long they waited. But if you gave a list, possibly by park, that would make it easier for others to remember and reply

Boy, math doesn't HAVE to be boring anymore when you tie it to a Disney trip!

Can you narrow it down to a time of year, or day of the week per park? That would make it sound more specific and would help people remember the wait times I think.

Good luck...I'll have to remember this when my two boys get old enough for math projects, thanks for the idea!

We were there two weeks ago and a lot of the rides were 5-10 minutes wait time. We even saw a few ride signs with "0 minutes" on them - should have taken pictures of those!

I agree with WDWLinda - it would be easier to pick a specific time of year, or peak vs. value, or something - because wait times vary so much based on that.

Fun project - good luck!

Brianna...
The real question is...What time of year is your theoretical trip taking place...Or in math terms...Need more information! :goodvibes

Again we thank everyone for their responses! I found some great information for Brianna on Laughing Place it give estimated wait times for everything including some restaurants. Then we have the Passporter which tells you how much time to allow.

For time of year I don't think that matters. Brianna was going to take any and all information then average them out for herself. I remember times we saw when we were there in October and I remember roughly times I have waited in previous years.

She has the times for all rides and shows. That we found in the Passporter.
This is a fun project. The teacher said it may be a hard one to do but she is confident enough to get it done. One student last year figured out how many sugar cubes it would take to fill the Washington Memorial.

Her final project is due March 13th so we still have some time to gather info. Thank you guys for everyting!!! :grouphug:
