Need help finding a stuffed Minnie PLEASE READ

She also believes that the Minnie Mouse at AK is the "real" Minnie and the others that run around the parks are her cousins. And if anyone tells her that not true she will tell them that it is the Magic of Disney. Believe it or not my DD of 11 is also classified as Academically Exceptionally Gifted. She is an amazing young lady who just refuses to give up on the great things of her childhood even though I know her brain tells her otherwise.

I just read the entire thread. I cried most of the way through. As a first grade teacher, I see way too many "babies" that are not "babies" anymore. They just do not have that wonderful innocence. They see too much too soon. I am very thankful that your child does, and I pray that she keeps it as long as possible. I hope that my 2 DD's can have that same joy and peace. Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

I just read this entire thread and I am sobbing. This is by far the BEST post I have ever read on DisBoards.
I really want some pics, too!!

OK. I'm going to go through the pics I have and try to figure out how to post them. I may have to get help from a friend but I will do my best. I'm just computer challenged.

Ummmmm, the little icon that says insert image. If I click that it asks for the url but the pictures are on my computer. So then what do I do? I want to stick the picture there permanently and can't figure out how.

Yes, it worked. Thank you for pictures. Your DD is so adorable, you can see she got a kind heart. :)

Who she wants to be when she grow up? I think she would make a wonderful doctor or teacher.

She wants to be either a Marine Biologist or a performer of some sort. She goes to camp at SeaWorld every summer and loves it. (For any Disney employees lurking, please try and Disney to start some kind of camp for kids). But she also really loves being on a stage and performing -- has since she was about 4 and climbed on the stage in AK Camp Minnie-Mickey and started to sing for everyone after the performers had left. I agree though that she would make a wonderful teacher as she always ends up with lots of little kids around her. In fact, when we went to one of the Dance Parties at DTD in december one little boy started following her around to the point that I had to return him to his mother when we went to leave.

Disney does educational programs I think they called Educate Youth or something like that. They usually available for groups but they did for general public as well, I am not sure but I think it is available at March. Not a camp, but basically couple hours to half day experiene. She may like it, they have classes in AK as well.

She would love the classes at AK as one of her favorite parts of AK is the Conservation Station when the vets are working and she gets to see them. I'm going to e-mail guest relations and see if they can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

I never knew they did this. I did know about the opportunities for performers and musicians but not the academic type stuff. I will definitely look into this for our next trip. Thank you for the link. Disers are the greatest.

Thanks for sharing this story. Truly, the sweetest thing I have read in a very long time.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback. I intend to show this thread to my DD someday when she's old enough and no longer thinks of Old Minnie as being real. I hoope that day doesn't come for a very long time but I know it will.

So, for those of you who remember this story, today was the day. She was sitting at the table doing her homework and had to answer a question: Have you ever lost anything you really cherished and then got it back? How did it make you feel? What do you think she answered -- yep, she talked about Old Minnie. Then she started asking me questions and rather than answer them I let her read the thread -- with tears streaming down my face. My little girl has turned into a young lady somewhere along the way. She is 14 now, finishing her Freshman year of High School and still holds onto Old Minnie with innocence of youth. Now she is talking about starting a youtube series for little girls starring Old Minnie. Considering she still watches Disney Junior (at times) this isn't a bad idea.:grouphug:

Thanks for the update MinnieSummer. I was one of the people that sent you pictures of Minnie (since we happen to have the same one). I still think about your story - which is why I've kept this thread bookmarked all this time.

Skier Pete, the pictures you sent still hang on her wall. And I think of you as well. What you did for my little girl was such a wonderful gift. Old Minnie still travels with her, has been to SeaWorld camp 6 years running, as well as every other camp she has gone to. But she watches out for Minnie now, making certain that she will never be lost again. When she finished reading the thread she had a million questions but she wasn't angry with me just sort of melancholy. I guess she realized she was no longer that little girl anymore. Although, that little girl is still very much a part of the amazing young woman she is turning into.

I was telling this story to a friend last night and decided to see if the thread was still available. My DD is 22 now. Graduated college this past August with a degree in Music Business -- a field that is pretty much shut down right now. But that is slowly changing. She has studied in Spain and made trips all across the US during her studies. And yes, Minnie is still with her. To Spain and back, and everywhere else. So again, thanks to everyone who made this story possible.
