Need help fast re: documents to enter Canada

go to Canada frequently have never needed more than a drivers license.

For the kids we take their Birth Certificates just in case but have never had to produce them

I'm glad that I read this because Sean and I were thinking about visiting Canada. His parents live in upstate NY and he wants me to meet them. (yikes)

:earseek:

So I want to have all of the right papers too.:sunny:

We went to Niagara Falls 2 years ago, so after 9/11, and they barely stopped our car. They asked us where we lived, where we were going and that's it. No IDs, nothing. Coming back through was the same way. Some cars were pulled over and customs officials were going through their trunks and luggage. I guess our mini-van filled with juice boxes and McDonald's bags wasn't on their list that day.

Even though it was nice not to get stuck there, I would have felt a bit more comfortable if they did some kind of inspection.

I've crossed border at Detroit, MI and N. Falls, NY at both I've been asked for Dl and BC. I do have a passport now due to freq trips to Canada and plans to go on cruise in near future. I've found getting into Canada is easy compared to coming back into USA.
