Hi everyone -

We're going to WDW late Jan to early Feb '12 for 9 nights and will have the dining plan to cover my wife and I - we already know we'll have to pay out of pocket for our then-32 month old since he isn't covered by the meal plans. I think we'll probably be fine figuring out the allocated quick service portion of our dining plan, but were hoping to garner suggestions from more seasoned Disney travelers about table service opportunities we shouldn't miss. Given our little guy, we're probably going to opt out of the Fine Dining options but we're also not the buffet-type, either.

My wife and I have been to Disney before but it was quite awhile ago and I don't think we really experienced any of the TS resort or park options. This is the first trip for the little guy.

Thanks in advance!

There are so many TS restaurants in WDW that it is a little difficult to give specific advice at this point. What I do when planning our ADRs is to first know which park we will be in each day. Then I will decide whether I want our ADR inside the park or at a nearby resort. Then I will decide which meal (B L D) I want the TS. Then I look at the narrowed down list of TS restaurants in that area and look at the menus for each one to see if it has anything we would be interested in eating. Then I pick one.

Move on to the next day's park and repeat the process.

Take a look at the Dining info under the tab at the top of the page for general info on all of the restaurants and menus. Also check out some of the reviews of restaurants that interest you most.

Asking for people's top picks of TS restaurants will probably generate a huge, long list that may or may not be of any help to you. Narrowing your choices down a bit by doing a bit of research may help speed the process a lot.

My favorite is Sanaa at AK Villas. The food is wonderful, as is the service, and your little one would probably enjoy being so close to the animals! :goodvibes

Taking buffets and Fine Dining out of play, I would recommend:

50's Prime Time
Via Napoli
La Hacienda
Kona Cafe-this is borderline Fine Dining, but in a very casual (too casual, IMHO) locale.
Nine Dragons
Wolgang Puck Cafe

That should get you started.

And welcome to the Dis.

Thanks so much for the responses so far!

Minnie, you're right...this is a bit overwhelming, so it's nice to get an idea as to how to come up with a strategy.

ciera and Jimmy - thanks for the suggestions, I'll check those out now!
