I am trying to reserve a car for Dec 31-Jan 3 to pick up at the Dolphin resort so I can use National or Alamo. First does it matter
in that are the lines better or worse? I am a EA and QS member.

Second question, I can work Nationals reservations on the net
just fine, but not not comming up with two good a rate.
Everytime I try to use codes etc on Alamo, I get an "invalid ID
# or rate code" I even got that off my entertainment book
codes which should be fine. I am trying to use some codes
etc found on rentalcodes site but I can't get them to work,
example, rate K8 , promo 307***, cupon D***.
Is there some trick here that I am missing?

We are a group of 6, 4 adults and 2 kids age 7. On National
I either have to rent a luxuary or a minivan, but Alamo show
a rental above the fullsized that will hold 5 adults and 1 child
that is less than a luxuary. They list it as a Bonneville .

Thanks for the help.

Oh, one other question, can I rent the car but just let my husband
be the only driver and not have to pay an extra driver fee?
Because of work all the EA and QS cards are in my name

One difference between Quicksliver and EA I thought was that EA you bypass the counter; can you with Quicksilver? I thought Quicksliver was just a special line??

With EA you can have your spouse drive for free. and I believe you can with Quicksliver too. You just have to show both licences.

The dolphin resort does not have an EA, just an Emerald counter.
I just wondered if the lines were better or worse at either.

Last year we rented at National from the airport and my husband
drove, no one said anything to us about an extra driver charge
but we did the Emerald isle so no one said much to us at all.

I just don't want a $10.00 extra driver charge!

At the Dolphin and Car Care Center, the counter is one in the same for both companies. It does not matter who you use at that point.
For Alamo, just put in the coupon number, no rate code ie: BY. They have changed their system over the past couple of months and that box really messes stuff up. Their system now knows the rate code by the number code you put in and the coupon can be entered also, if you desire. Give it a try. :)

If you are EC members the spouse is automatically covered, you don't have to say anything to anyone.

Thanks so much!!!

I could not figure out what I was doing wrong!!!
Also thanks for the information thats its all the same line,
I will just go with which ever I can get the best rate!!
