Need help/advice for trip in December 2017

So originally we planned for January of 2018 but things have changed and now we are trying to go this December in 2017!

Lots of questions/concerns have arouse. We are aiming the 16th - 21st.

I know it's going to be crazy busy and a lot of events going on but I want your folks honest opinion on some things. Mainly resorts. Below are some of my options. Can anyone give me any feedback on these resorts around this time? Possible construction, pros & cons? I would appreciate anything! Thank you!!!!

POR - stayed here last September.
POFQ - want to try somthing new but still have the amenities of riverside. I hear it'smaller.
CSR - I like this resort on paper
AKL - the rates are appealing to me, I just stayed at Disneys HIlton Head island resort and it was unbelievable, the cast members were amazing. In my mind worth the money so I want to go deluxe but my significant other is thinking it's not worth the money.

We are a couple in our late 20s, obviously the holiday season is magical but some romantic scenery at the resort would be nice as well. Any advice? Thank you all so much!!!!

AKL is really pretty during the holiday season. The savanna is a cool factor that makes the hotel feel really unique.

CSR is undergoing a lot of construction right now so that is something to consider when booking.

Akl for sure! Very beautiful resort, with lots of amenities. It's generally a very calming atmosphere there. The lighting, the music piped in, the aromas coming from Boma, the restaurant below the lobby, fireplaces both inside and out, all add to the romantic nature of this resort. We visit Akl every December. It is our favorite time to visit Disney in general. You get all of the added decorations and fun of the Holidays, without the crowds or the price tag! The closer to Christmas the more people show up, but I still think you will be fine with your dates! If the price is right, I say go for it! My only other thoughts on your other choices would be that POFQ is a smaller, more intimate choice than POR, and you would have the lovely boat to Disney Springs, which is definitely romantic, especially at night! For a couple in your 20's you might enjoy the proximity for dining options there. I believe CSR might have construction going on (maybe?) ,so that would make me rule that choice out all together. Either way, you will love Disney in December!!!

It seems like it's come down to Aninal Kingdom lodge and Port orleans Riverside! We'll make a decision tonight. Regardless disney around Christmas should be magical, I'm excited!!!
