Hi ya'll! My DD is turning 7 next month and would like to have a Finding Nemo themed party. I have most of the supplies like blowouts, hats, invitations, plates, cups, tablecloth, etc. Now I need ideas on what games to play, activities to do, etc. And maybe some ideas on what to put in the goody bag and things to eat!

Some ideas I have right now are:
Pin the fin on Nemo
Treasure hunt (could use some details, though)

I know there are some really creative people here, let's all put our heads together! Thanks!

if you are looking for something to eat
you could use clear plastic cups and make jello and put multi colored gold fist in there like a fish tank

I've also seen little fish that contain bubbles that are cute

some other cute ideas I found searching on the web

Finding Nemo Birthday Party

Finding Nemo Party Supplies
If you've seen the movie Finding Nemo, you'll know why
our Finding Nemo Birthday party is the hottest pick for a
child's party this summer. The characters are loveable,
the colors are bright and cheerful and the plot allows for many Finding Nemo games and craft ideas.
Using Finding Nemo party decorations, party favors,
recipes and party games.
This year you'll have a party your child will never forget!

Invitations
Create homemade invitations using brightly colored cardstock paper cut into a fish shape. Sprinkle a little blue glitter in the envelope before sealing.
On the front:
"Dive into ______'s Birthday!

Back:
We've invited Nemo, Marlin, Dory and the gang to celebrate!
Time, date etc.

Time Saving Tip: Many of the ideas on this page require
pre-cut shapes. Most scrapbook stores charge a small fee
to use their die-cut machine. It will be worth it to do so!

Under Water Taste Treats
Shark Punch
This refreshing drink has a surprise “bite” lurking just beneath the surface! A day before the party, make shark
ice cubes by freezing bite-sized gummy shark candy in ice cube trays filled with water. Let the trays stand at
room temperature for an hour to remove the air bubbles before placing them in the freezer. The candy will dissolve
slightly while freezing, tinting the cubes a soft pastel color.

Then, prepare blue drink mix according to package instructions (Kool-Aid® works well). Pour the blue drink
into a punch bowl and add 2 liters of ginger ale. When serving, place two or three shark cubes in a tall, clear
glass for each child and fill with punch!

Under the Sea Treat
Each guest will get to eat their own personal aquarium !
Pour blue jello into clear plastic cups and partially chill.
When the jello is slightly thickened add a Gummi shark, fish and a few pieces of fruit by the foot or fruit leather (seaweed). Continue to chill until firm.
Before serving, top with a wave shaped whipped cream swirl.

Finding Nemo Party Games and Activities
Fish for a Name Tag
Make a fish-shaped name tag for each guest using thick, colorful paper. Decorate with markers and attach a safety
pin to the top of each fish. Place all the fish in an empty kiddie pool or decorated box. As each guest arrives,
hand him/her a fishing pole (sturdy stick with a yarn “line” and a magnet “hook”). When a fish is “caught,” write the child’s name on it or give them the name of their favorite character from the Finding Nemo movie.

Tag with Bruce
The birthday child begins as Bruce the Shark in the middle
of a large playing area. All other players are "Fish" who must try to run past "Bruce" to the other side of the playing area. If a Fish is tagged, he or she holds hands with "Bruce"
to build a bigger shark and help tag more fish.
The last fish alive, wins!

Fish, Fish, Shark
This game is based on the traditional “Duck, Duck, Goose” game, but instead of a goose chasing a duck, a shark
chases a fish.

Gill Says
When it comes to aquarium life, Gill is the fish in charge!
Play this game just like Simon Says, except the leader replaces "Gill Says" before each command.
It's more fun when the children are asked to do fish-like actions. "Gill Says...move your arms like an octopus"

Finding Nemo
Before the party, cut and hide paper clown fish with each child's name written on it. Each child will find a fish, then work together to find the fish with their own name.
Fish tags are redeemed to receive a party bag!

Finding Nemo Craft Ideas and Ocean Art Activities
It was so easy to come up with Finding Nemo Crafts that
several are listed. Pick one or two appropriate activities
for your party.

Nemo Fish pin, magnet or necklace

You'll Need:
Craft Foam in orange and white
Plastic "google" eyes
Craft Foam Glue - more than one bottle will
make it easier on you and the kids!
Magnetic strip, Pin Backs or Lanyard String

Pre-cut fish body, fins, tail and stripe shapes before the party. If the children will be making necklaces,
make a hole in the top fin and pre-cut strips of plastic lacing. At the party the children will use the foam glue to
assemble their fish and then make a necklace, magnet or pin.

Paper plate Dory the Fish

You'll need:
Paper plates, construction paper, crayons or markers,
glue sticks and scissors.
Color the plate blue ( or other bright color).
Cut the mouth out. Cut two triangles for fins and
attach to the body with glue. Make paper eyes and
attach with glue as well.

Paper Plate Jelly Fish

You'll need:
paper plates, strips of crepe paper or ribbons,
glue stick, scissors, something to color with and
construction paper.

Cut the paper plate into half-circles before the party.
Let the children color the half circle (body).
Depending on the children's ages you can precut
black and white paper circles for the eyes.
If the children are old enough and you have
enough scissors, they can cut their own.

Glue or staple strips of tissue/crepe/construction paper
along the bottom. Glue the eyes and mouth onto the
front of the jellyfish.

Underwater scene
Tissue Fish
Ocean Stamping
Pony Bead Sea Turtle
Fish Frame
Have a great Finding Nemo Party and remember to have fun!

Man! luv2nascar has all of the good ideas :)

Target has some wonderful Nemo goodies bags, party favors, etc. at decent prices, too.

We had octopus hotdogs (you cut the hot dog in fours up to a certain point for the head...when you boil them...the "legs" curl up and make it look like an octopus)

I took blue & green crepe paper and curled them together up the walls to make sea weed. Took blue crepe paper and waved it across the ceiling to make the water above.

I saved old water bottles and had the kids make those water/oil thingies. I bought sea life confetti and put that in the jar. Then we added baby oil, and blue colored water. They were pretty cool and easy to do!

I made my own cake...It was cute!

I'm trying to find the pictures...if I can...I'll post a few!

Using the characters from the movie create a treasure hunt with riddles so they have to think about it. You could make it simple like I am blue and yellow and very forgetful (DORY) and when they find Dory there is another riddle for the next character and so on until they find Nemo and a treasure.

just an idea

good luck

Thanks for all the great ideas, guys! Keep 'em coming!
I'd love to see pictures, MosMom!

Last year, my daughter had a Nemo party too. I bought tiny goldfish bowls and put I live goldfish in each(with water of course)! I had the kids step back from the table and toss a ping pong ball toward the fish. Whichever bowl it landed in, the child took that fish and bowl home as the party favor.
Don't worry folks...no fish were harmed in this game!!
You don't have to necessarily do the same, but you could use the bowls as center pieces and tie balloons to it!

Thanks to all who posted such creative ideas! Anyone else who would like to make suggestions, please do, the party is a month away. Thanks again!

My DS just turned 6, 2 weeks ago and we had a Nemo party. It was a pool party at a local hotel pool. I had Wal-Mart do a cupcake fish cake that looked like Nemo. And in their treat bags, I did everything water related. Blow up water rings for the pool, swedish fish, and water guns. I was just in Toys R Us the other day and seen Nemo rafts for kids at 3.99 each. Thats an idea for treat bags. Not sure how much you want to spend though.

I've seen really cute, easy cupcakes... They used blue icing, and then the multicolored goldfish crackers and white dots for bubbles. You could have the kids decorate their own and take pictures for everyone to take home - maybe poloroid, if not then give those out later. You could also (depending on the age and interest) have each child make their own aquarium, blue construction paper, and then cut out and color the fish and paste them on...

Just have to mention birthdaypartyideas.com, they have TONS of ideas that people have done for their parties! You have to check it out!

Ok, I FINALLY found them!!! I have WAYYY too many upload spots that I stick pictures on!

I see the party isn't yet so hopefully you get this in time, I'll PM you too! ;)

Edited to add that I'm an idiot. ;) I found the wrong picture. I still haven't found my Nemo cake pictures! I think they may have been on my old computer that took the great big computer sleep to the sky. ;)
