I am taking my children (SDD 18, DS 14 and DD 7) to the Beach Club at the end of May to celebrate the end of school. We are not planning to visit any parks - just hang out at Stormalong Bay and have fun! I would like to surprise them with a fun meal (or two), as we'll be there three nights. We'll definitely eat at Beaches and Cream (more than once, probably for lunch), but as I recall the restaurants on the Boardwalk can be hit and miss.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for good (and fun) places to eat that don't require us to head into the parks? We're not crazy about Planet Hollywood (been there, done that too many times). We MAY eat at Cape May one night - not big seafood fans, although I know there are other items to choose from. I'd love to find somewhere new to try.

Thanks for your help!

We have enjoyed the ESPN Club on the Boardwalk. Love the Earl of Sandwich at DTD. Maybe you could do breakfast at Cape May instead of dinner? We liked the clambake but the breakfast is a must do for us every trip.

A fun place to eat with kids is the Rainforest Cafe. There is one at DD and one at AK (though not inside the park, so you dont need a ticket to get it). The food is pretty good there and the atmosphere amazing! All the kids we know put this on their must do list.

Another fun place is Ohana's at the Poly. We had dinner there and our daughter joined in a parade, a coconut race and the limbo. We all had a great time there and the food was fantastic.

We also really liked Boma at the AKL. No games, but a huge buffet with lots of variety in a very beautiful hotel.

we like that hamburger and beer place on the Boardwalk... Hmm what is the name. Big River Grille & Brewing Works I think it is nice and relaxing. we love to sit outside and enjoy the Broadwalk.

i have a 17 year old that loves kona at the poly, earl of sandwich and wolfgang puck's (downstairs) both at downtown disney, boma at animal kingdom lodge - great food and great hotel to walk around in after dinner, and i've heard yacht club galley is decent (just next door to you) ...palio is good italian at the swan (or dolphin - can't remember which) --- they have regular italian fare and great pizzas too - strolling musicians help make this a fun place to go
hope this helps (i'm not sure you want recommendations for more expensive places with a 7 yr old as part of the group but california grill is a great place too)
have a wonderful time --- there is plenty to do on disney property without going into the parks!

Interesting...can you share what the breakfast is like?

:)

Since Mackey Mouse posted the link to the menu I won't bore you again with those details :) It is a character meal with Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale all in their beach attire and it is lots of fun. It doesn't get as hectic as some of the other character breakfasts--the characters usually stop by our table several times and spend lots of time playing with the kids. We have decided to make this our departure day farewell breakfast from now on.

Ohana at the Poly hands down you should definitely do. YUM.

ESPN Club has the best buffalo wings and fries. Great food.

I did not enjoy Big River Grille - I'd avoid that.

I hear Whispering Canyon at the WL is supposed to be a whole lot of fun.
We are trying it out in July.
