I tried to post this the other day but something bizarre happened and I never saw the thread actually on the forum. So here it is again:

Can anyone tell me more about the arcade at Pop? Do the games take quarters or tokens or do you get those game cards with the magnetic strips? Do the games generally cost a quarter per play or are they more? Are there some "older" games like PacMan or are they newer titles? And finally (I would hope not, beig Disney, but I have to ask) are most of the games appropriate for kids? DS9 didn't ever get a chance to go to the arcade last trip and I want to find out more before I encourage (or discourage) a trip to the arcade in October.

I know the games at the arcade in the mall are horribly violent and cost about $1 each to play. If that's the case then we can skip it! Thanks! :)

If I can remember correctly they take both. Most games are 50 cents and up. There is a great selection of games. There are alot of games for young kids and lots for the older crowd

My DS (7yo) thinks the arcade at POP is awesome! He said it is one of the best. Most games are 50 cents some $1.00. My DS liked the star wars games, the car & motorcycle racing, and the ones that have a snowboard and you can move on it to move the character on the screen. They had skee ball, basketball, air hockey. There were a couple shooting games but not that many that I remember. It is a pretty big arcade. A lot of the games give tickets. My DS picked out a "way cool" disco ball on our first day and his aim was to get enough tickets for it. He did.

The games take quarters. There are plenty of change machines right inside the entrance.

I think your DS will have a blast! Plus they even have some couches for us tired parents to sit on!

We were just at Pop and my 16 yr old DS and myself had a great time in the arcade. There are games for all ages and some are a quarter, while the the more interactive ones are 50. The prize tickets add up quickly, and they do have a nice selection of prizes. :earboy2:

Thanks!

We will probably give it a try! I think I'll tell DS he has a set amount he will be allowed to spend in the arcade, and that's it. At $.50 per game the cost will add up VERY quickly. Better to occupy our time with something that is included in the price of the vacation! :rotfl:

DS is a huge fan of those little tickets. We were at Chuck E. Cheese yesterday and he was incensed that we had to leave before he got a chance to go ot the redemption counter. (I TOLD him we were leaving and he needed to get his prize, but he decided to keep playing. But it's not like we won't be back!) I can see that clear limits will be the key to a successful visit to the Pop arcade!

The arcade at POP is great--my DS had a blast there!!!. We did give him a daily "allowance" and he chose to spend quite a bit of it in there. Of course after a while, DH and I joined in--the games were fun!! If your DS likes Chuck E Cheese, he will be in heaven at this arcade. Have fun!!! :flower:

My DS (13) and DH (41) love the arcade at Pop. We stayed at POFQ on our last trip but went over to Pop to check it out and are now planning a trip to stay at Pop.
