Hi I was just looking for some ideas for my very finicky 2yr old son, he wont wear anything on his head, so there goes every idea I had, the only other idea I had was a spongebob square pants costume that I found in Lillian Vernon~very cute. So any ideas would be great. thanks alot, I also looked through the costumes at the disney store and I didnt care for any of them,I know, I know how dare I, but before I get into trouble to my defense I bought my daughter the whole mulan costume

thanks.

Will he tolerate face-painting? Maybe a clown or something scary, if he prefers, that also involves a painted face?

I'm not the creative-type. :(

Does he like Bob the Builder? You could do that without a mask. Just a hardhat or without a hardhat if he won't have anything to do with it.

I had a similar problem with my son last Halloween when he was two. He never liked wearing hats or having anything on his head. I bought him a dinosaur costume that had a hood... that way he could pull it up or down whenever he wanted but since it was attached it wouldn't come off. I think one piece costumes are great at that age.... you won't have to worry about losing any accessories or pieces. :)

We bought Buzz Lightyear and Woody pjs for my almost 2 and 3 year olds, from the Disney Store and they have boots houseshoes to go with it.

My 17 yr. old DD went NUTS over that Spongebob costume when she spied it in the Lillian Vernon catalog yesterday. She's trying to convince me that she could squeeze into a child's size 8-10! (largest that they had!!)

It is a little pricey........ What about Robin Hood - he could skip the hat. The Superman costume was also very cute.

My DD needs a costume idea as she is a member of the HS danceline and will be marching in the local Halloweed parade. I did a websearch on google and got tons of websites.

One of the better ones is: www.kidsdomain.com/craft

They had lots of great ideas for costumes that you can make yourself - DD is thinking about being a ladybug in honor of one of the danceline members who died earlier this year. (she loved ladybugs.)

Thanks everyone for such great ideas the only bad part was I thought of alot of those and without the hat it wont work, thanks for the website Pam I will definetly check it out, I am leaning towards the dinosaur Idea because of the hood idea he seems to keep hoods on but forget about anything else. My first choice would have been the bob the builder costume but without the hat forget it, it makes the costume. thanks all

You could have him carry the hat and put his candy in it...that would be cute.

whirlsy, I had this problem when DS was 2 also. He wanted nothing to do with anything on his head, or with a costume at all, for that matter! What we did was dress him up like Steve from Blues Clues (I know its now Joe, but you could do the same thing.) We got him a Steve shirt from Sears, I'm sure they sell Joe ones now, and he already had the khaki pants, and we also got him a handy-dandy notebook and a little stuffed Blue to carry. To him, he was in regular clothes, but he still had on a recognizable costume. Let us know what you do!!:D

I just found the cutest costume at Wal-mart tonight, its Mike from Monsters Inc., it is made of foam so the eye part is down on his chest and then there is feet covers there is a hard hat but he can get away without wearing it, it is so darn cute, I love it, they had all kinds, you know what I am talking about right? the ones that are foam and round and just fits around their torso area, usually you see it in the shape of a pumpkin, well they had a honey pot where the lid was the hat and the torso was the pot and they had a pooh bear eating the honey from around its neck, very cute. they also had a cookie jar same idea but the cookie monster eating a cookie from the inside of the jar. I was sooo excited when I found these and they were only 12.94 oh ya they had a spongebob one also. thanks for all your help and I loved the idea about the Steve costume aka Joe now. If this falls through, havent tried it on him yet, I will do that one.
