Hi everyone! I think I've convinced my DH to go to Disney next September to celebrate my big 30th birthday oh and our 5th wedding anniversary too :woohoo: We went to Vegas for his 30th but that's not really feasible with a toddler. I'd like a nice restaurant for a birthday dinner that would be ok to take an almost 2 year old to. I have plenty of time before I need to make our ADRs, but its never too early to plan ;)

I'm hoping to stay at WL since I've always wanted to stay there but quite honestly we'll go anywhere for a great birthday dinner. Characters aren't necessary.

You will get all kinds of answers but I will throw out my favorite. My family LOVES Ohana. My husband and I have joked about flying to Florida just to eat there. WE LOVE IT. It has to be our first night this next vacation because for 2 years we have talked about it. The food is great and the atmosphere is fun. It was also nice to see the Polynesian Resort.
Good Luck choosing one.
You could also check our allears.net. They have menus so you can look for things you like.

Here's a thought:

When our oldest son was 2, his schedule was completely off in WDW, which we actually liked. He would nap late in the day, then stay up for fireworks then pass out for the night by 9:30. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Brown Derby by accident. We had gotten him pizza at the BW pizza window then took the boat over to DHS (back then it was MGM :)) He fell asleep the minute we got there. It happened to be an EMH night. So we were able to get a walk up table at the Brown Derby while he slept at the table.

When he woke up we headed over to playhouse disney :) He never knew about our romantic dinner :)

Last week, my younger son who is approaching 2 in Feb, fell asleep during all our TS lunch meals. I felt bad for him, but we really enjoyed the meals while he slept.

I know this is unpredictible, but if you schedule an early dinner and shift the baby's schedule a bit, good chances are they'll be asleep during the meal.

Enjoy your 30th in WDW! I celebrated mine there and DH surprised me with diamond stud earrings in front of the castle!

Our favorite meal from our last trip was California Grill - and it is kid friendly. If you can get a window seat overlooking the castle for Wishes, it's really wonderful. We had an amazing server (it was back in 04 so I doubt he's still there, but ya never know - anyway, his name was Kevin) and the food was delicious (if you like sushi, seafood, good wine, etc.... it's a no brainer).

If you're staying at the WL, you will have direct boat access to the MK (and thus the Monorail Hotels). And the best restaurants are there IMHO.

I think for a celebration as big as 30 (or as I like to say your 2nd annual 29th :lmao: ), you should hit either Califormia Grill at CR, or Narcoossee's at the GF.

1) Have your anniversary-birthday-honeymoon-etc noted on the ressie or on ADR's.
2) The CM's have a lot of leeway of things to do or not do for you.
3) It simply is a matter of the CM's initiative and how busy they are that day.
4) It also depends upon how much they like you as a guest.
5) Expect nothing and be pleased with any CM activities.
6) Some of the things a CM can do for free are
. . . decorate table with Mickey confetti
. . . best table location
. . . special personalized menu
. . . autographed birthday cards
. . . balloons
. . . gifts for kid's baby teeth
. . . wine or champagne
. . . appetizers
. . . cake
. . . autographed placemats
. . . wine or fruit basket sent to room
. . . flowers sent to room
. . . room upgrades

NOTE: Anyone can get balloons and an autographed card in the room after check-in. Just ask at the Front Desk or Concierge Desk. Based upon availability and scheduling, they may come sooner or later, but they usually come. Also, baskets-gifts-etc cannot be delivered to the room prior to checkin in order to be in the room when the guest gets to the room.

My vote gotes to The Wave at the Contemporary. Ate there 2 weeks ago and it was fabulous - saw couples with small kids and everyone was fineand happy. :thumbsup2
