Hello!
I am hoping to get some advice from my fellow DISer's with a problem tthat has come up. We are scheduled to go to BCV on March 26thf or 5 nights, 1 bedroom for my daughter's spring break, but my Mom is very ill and in the hospital, and we do not know what is wrong at the moment. It seems very serious and we have been considering cancelling our trip to WDW and going to visit with my mother during the week instead. Just wondering what types of options might be available. Putting the points into a holding account for 60 days will not help us, so if we do that, we will loose them. How about donating the week to Make a Wish or other organization? Any ideas of other options would be greatly appreciated, as would any information on how late I can inform Disney of a change. Thanks!

belle3..

I'm sorry to hear this bad news and am also having the same type of problem. Would like to hear what veteran DVCers know about "what options are available with the point allocation" or the possibilities of changing/downgrading/cancelling ressies in a sickness case.

I have ressies for May, with extended family..a mom, dad, kids 6, 8, 2, their 1st trip to WDW. Mom's mom diagnosed with "c", lung, bone, brain and 4-12 mos. to live.
I won't discuss the upcoming trip with them....its certainly not a priority or important now. Am waiting for them to speak to me. Help DVCers??

I think you shuod call MS and talk to them. I have heard that they have a "special exceptions" rule, when stuff like this happens.

A holding account is good until the end of your use year, you can only make reservations 60 days in advance. What is your use year?

Thanks for all the help. The UY is Feb. I misunderstood the conditions on that. I thought one had to use the points within 60 days. Also, renting may be an option, but I would like to wait as long as possible. I will try and give MS a call and see what they have to say. Thanks!

Many Thanks for all your input.

Bell3 ...I hope your mom will be well. My prayers are with you..
