I need opinions on what to do. We have made reservations with Northwest for $81/ticket. We had 2 $75 vouchers and 2 $25vouchers from a previous flight full of delays. We were supposed to have these vouchers applied to our fare making a grand total of $124 for 4 tickets. Awesome deal eventhough we have to go to Detroit and then down to Orlando. 3 weeks later, 6 phone calls, countless hours on hold, and numerous Northwest employees who not only don't know what they're talking about, but actually make things worse, we have been charged $367! How did they get that figure? Good question - we're still waiting to be refunded the proper amount and have our vouchers credited!

Now, we found roundtrip tickets from PVD to MCO for$395 total for all of us. This fare is with Delta, is nonstop, and PVD is a much more convenient airport for us. Do you think we should just put up with Northwest's incompetence or get a refund and pay the extra money and fly with Delta?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions on how to handle this matter with Northwest, PLEASE let us know. We sent an e-mail to customer service yesterday morning, but have not heard a word from their camp. Is it really that difficult to apply vouchers?

Thank you all for listening and for your help in advance!!

let me see if I got this right...with northworst after they fix this mess your tkts would actually be free right? if I got it right after they fix it I would stick with it if its free. who knows after they correct their mistake you may end up with more vouchers.......

Listen to Beverly Lynn. She's up on this stuff.

Take the free trip on northworst (love that), and be done with the voucher holding, how bad can this experience be feeling.

I had the same happen to me w/vouchers and United. (They dropped my husband while he was in a wheelchair!!!!!!). After writing to the airline, they gave me 3 ($75) coupons. I used them on the next flight I booked and haven't been back since.

Husband turned out alright and we got to fly for $85/pp rt.

Try Southwest (if they go out of PVD). I know they fly out of BDL and that flight cost me $93/rt non-stop for this fall.

Best of luck to you......................

Well, I have to apologize for not being clear enough on my original post. There are way too many details to bore you kind people with. The last bit of info we received from North"worst" was back to the original $124 that we should have been charged on June 26th! After all this, they have offered nothing more than the original vouchers! I don't know how to pass this price up (if we ever do get our credit). I am very pesimistic about us ever getting the proper fare with as many different stories as we've been told since we made our reservations.

What would you do? Thank you very much for your opinions!!! Please tell me more!

We had a few problems with Northwest Vacations during our honeymoon. I wrote a letter to them (through email) expressing my concerns, as well as spoke with several employees. Not only did they respond to my email within the week, they also sent us vouchers and 4,000 bonus points for DH and myself. I know some people call them Northworst, but if you remain positive and are able to write a brief, but informative letter expressing your concerns, they will respond. By the way, they usually respond within the week - the quickest response I have received from them is 3 days. Also, if no one responds within a week, send carbon copies to the other departments, and someone will definitely get back to you. They are really big on customers informing them of problems right away (don't wait too long or they won't be as inclined to help you). One thing I do have to warn you about - Northwest is probably one of the worst (ha,ha) air carriers for figuring out air fares - their air faires seem to change by the minute! So, make sure that you have all of the correct fare information, and write a letter detailing what you expect from them. By the way, that fare sounds great!
