We are going to Hilton Head for the first time the 3rd week of June for 5 days. While we go to Disney World at least once a year we have been fearful Hilton Head would not have enough to do as we normally are quite active.
There will be; parents 40's
3 children, 18 and 16 yr. old boys (one friend) and 12 daughter and her friend.
We plan on taking 4 bikes and renting more if needed.
We do like the beach but not sure how many days we will enjoy it.
What would you recommend we do?
Are there many places to ride our bikes? Is the traffic to heavy to ride many places?
Do they have ping pong? tennis? recreational activity? If tennis, do we have to bring rackets?
How much is golf? Anything less expensive so the boys can go?
We were also hoping to find a map of the building numbers so we could see if there was a building we like/should request.
Can you fish off the pier? Do you need to take a fishing pole?

Thanks for any help you can give
:)

TiggerOO2- You will love Hilton Head. There is alot to do there. You can ride bikes around the whole resort, and almost around the entire island. The bike paths are pretty wide so we feel very safe while riding. There is alot of traffic on the main road that runs through the island, but most of the side streets with alot of the bike paths aren't so bad. The bike path from Disney's resort to Disney's beach house actually goes under the main road so you don't have to cross the road. You can fish off the pier, and can buy little rigs from the store there or from anywhere on the island and fresh shrimp to fish with. There are two putt putt courses that I am aware of on the island, the price is about average for that type of thing. I am not a golfer so I don't know about any of that. We took a kayak trip through Disney. It left from the resort. That might be fun for your family. Also a Dolphin watch tour is really cool with Captain Scott. Do a search on these boards for Hilton Head and you will find some really great threads filled with info about fun things to do and restaurants. We love HH and will be there June 15-19, our 3 trip in 12 months. It is not WDW, but it is so relaxing and fun. Oh, and if you are driving, take a battery operated lantern to put on your porch. We loved having it on our picnic table as we sat outside in the evenings to eat or talk or rock or read a book or play cards. The porches do not have lights, not sure why, but we loved having our lantern. Let me know if you have anymore questions. :wave2:
