DH has a work trip to Orlando next weekend, so myself and my two DD's are going as well. We have to fly down Friday night, since the flight is in the evening, to have all day Saturday through Monday.

Our hotel on Sat-Mon is covered, but we need a clean, budget-friendly place to crash Friday night.

DH's work hotel is the Gaylord Palms, so we would like to be as close to there as possible. It is about 1.5 miles from Disney's gate in Kissimmee.

Anyone have a good suggestion for a place to crash. Budget is great, but it needs to be clean and comfortable.

Thanks!

Go to hotels.com and do a search (Kissimmee) and then display by price (low to high).

Look over the reviews and then go to tripadvisor.com to cross check the reviews.

You should be able to find one that is suitable.

I was looking at Betterbidding.com and it seems like a lot of people seem to bid $50 and land the Marriott at the Orlando Airport. Orlando has many bid zones, so you can choose which zones to bid. You choose star level and location, but are blind to hotel name. You pay upfront and it is noncancellable.

Another place to look is Hotwire. I have used this many times, especially when looking for a one night stay and have saved a lot of money staying in nice hotels. I have a reservation for beachfront Marriott on Hilton Head in July for $99/night (Marriott.com is $300/night). You chose a zone and star level. Property amenities and trip advisor rating are listed. Price is listed. Hotel name not given until you pay upfront and it is not cancelable. Sometimes, you can figure out what the hotel is or at least narrow it down. Priceline gets a better price, but Hotwire less risk. For one night to sleep, I would give it a try. I usually book 3 1/2 stars or higher, as I find lower star hotels are quite variable in quality.

Good luck!!

I think I forgot to mention that the first option is Priceline name your own price. People post their Priceline wins (and Hotwire wins) on www.betterbidding.com. Betterbidding.com has links to Priceline and Hotwire and bidding advice. No hotel rooms are sold or reserved there. Sorry for the confusion.

We like the Clarion Palm Parkway if we stay offsite. The hotel sits along I4 so some complain about the noise - didn't bother us, but we sleep with the TV on - just ask for a parking lot view. Decent, clean rooms, 2 double beds with fridge and micro - no free breakfast though - nice area.

choicehotels.com type kissmmee in location 5700 on 192 is right down the road from gaylord palms across the street from celebration

there are some threads in the Orlando hotels forum here on the Disboards that may help you in your search as well. Seems like there are a lot of options in the Kissimmee/maingate area.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn LBV East two years ago for $30/night from priceline. It is close to Osceola Parkway (the road Gaylord Palms is on). It's also clean, safe and decent for the price.

I use hotwire.com and lastminutetravel.com a lot to book hotels - last minutetravel.com is easy to use as there are pictures and you can check them with trip advisor to id a hotel. Betterbidding is a great reference.

Some ideas of prices - Fairfield Inn Lake Buena Vista is on lmt for $58/night - the Courtyard Marriott LBV is on for $77/night - I have booked the Hampton Inn LBV for $55/night but haven't seen it recently. On hotwire I have booked the Country Inn and Suites at the airport for $42/night - 2 1/2* with a 95% approval rating.

Good luck!! Lot's of hotels to choose from - I am sure you'll get something for the price you want.
