Okay, so we aren't really big breakfast eaters but we will have one table service credit on our "down day" (no theme park day) and want to use it for a breakfast. Our son just likes simple things like toast, cereal and cinnamon rolls. (Hey I told you we aren't big breakfast eaters). Now, my husband and I will eat just about any kind of breakfast food.

We are staying at Pop but are open to going to another resort for breakfast.

We will be having dinner at the following and I don't want to repeat it for breakfast:

Ohana (do they even have breakfast?)
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey's-maybe but could make it for breakfast
Whispering Canyon

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Ohana (do they even have breakfast?)

Ohana has a character family style breakfast - Lilo & Stitch and friends. Not sure who the friends are.

Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club is a good choice for breakfast. The food and service were excellent when we were there. It wasn't very crowded and the characters spent a lot of time at each table.

We also enjoyed breakfast at the Grand Floridian. All the others I was going to suggest are the ones you have mentioned.

I agree with Cape May Cafe--good breakfast food and you get to see Minnie, Goofy and Donald.

I strongly suggest Boma. Your son will get what he wants and you and DH will have a chance to try new things. Also AKL is a great place to spend some time on a down day. I believe breakfast seating goes until 10:30am.

You have some character meals planned so I don't think you necessarily need another for this breakfast.

Another vote for Boma. The breakfast foods are fresh and tasty and the resort is awesome. A few of the choices are unusual but really, most are normal breakfast fare - eggs, fruit, toast, danish etc. Also, as mentioned, AKL is a great place to spend a little time on a day off from the parks. :thumbsup2

Another thought might be to eat at Boatwrights at POR and then take the river boat shuttle to DTD. (we've stayed at POR but I can't vouch for the quality of breakfast here as we didn't try it)

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. We actually would like to visit another resort and breakfast would be a good way to do that.

Any more suggestions?

Ohana- Ohana- Ohana:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
We LOVE Ohanas for breakfast. The food is so yummy there!! Dh wants to eat there twice on our next trip. It is family style so they bring it out to your table. No having to get up and go to the buffet while watching for the characters to come to your table. Character interaction is great and food is plentiful and tasty.

didn't care for Boma for dinner, but breakfast reviews make it sound like it's mostly regular American breakfast foods, so I would suggest Boma for your down day breakfast...The AKL resort is spectacular to look at. Awesome lobby with cool displays all over-like being in a museum/hotel. Gorgeous gift shop - even if you're not buying, they have beautiful African imports in there. And taking the time to go out on the verandah to see all the animals is wonderful (they have viewing areas set up with informational plaques telling you all about the animals you may see in each area.) If it's like zoos, the animals would be active & about in the morning, so would be a great way to spend a morning.

We really Love "O'hanas" for breakfast.
This is a fun and good breakfast.
The Characters are Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto (they are wearing
Hawaiian shirts with leas).
The atmosphere is very nice and it's easy to hop on and off of the
monorail to get to the place and when leaving.
The food is good and consistant, it is basic breakfast food, eggs, meats (bacon, sausage ect.) Mickey waffles, Pineapple bread, biscuts, freash fruit (pineapple, melons, grapes, ect) but the Juice is amazing.
The Coffee was good here also.
I enjoy being able to visit the POLY (take a mini tour)
because I can't afford to stay there.
We have eaten here 3 times and will be eating here again in Sept.
Can't Wait!

I second the Cape May Cafe character breakfast. Last October the chef came up with a new way of making scrambled eggs, and everyone's been raving about them. He boils them in a bag with butter flavored canola oil. I don't recall all the details, but you should try them.

We really enjoyed our breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian. Not only was the food very good, the characters were a hoot! They have "face" characters who talk to you. It's a different experience than meeting the cuddly guys like Mickey and Pooh who can only gesture.

We met the Mad Hatter--very funny guy--and Mary Poppins who looks just like the real Mary and acts like her too. The best was Alice in Wonderland, who scolded me for overhearing me say that Mary was a good actress.

The Cape May Cafe would also be a nice option. We tried to get there last trip, but with the best laid plans and what-not, we didn't. If you're looking for a way to spend some time on a non-park day, it's right by the Boardwalk area. Miniature gold is nearby, and your son would love going to the ESPN Club if you decided to go there for a beer later on. My kids loved ESPN's arcade. It's not huge, but the games were decent. And he can play Playstation 2 for free at the tables in the pub area.

I'd be a toss up between Cape May and 1900 Park Fare. They are both excellent, but I think we've had better character interaction at Cape May.

Another vote for Ohana. I know you said you didnt want to double up but we LOVED our breakfast there. I cannot say enough good things about them.

How about the GF Cafe? It's one of our favorite non-buffet breakfasts. You'd be on the monorail line, so after breakfast you could hop the monorail and visit the Contemporary (love their game room - kids can earn tickets and turn them in for prizes there) and visit the Poly. You could also ask to ride up front in the monorail. Since it's a down day for you, it would be a good time to do this since you might have to wait for a couple of monorails before you actually get on and they ask you to get off and move to the back cars at their next stop. My kids had the most fun doing this.

I also agree with the other posters who mentioned Boma. It's one of our favorite breakfast spots; other than WCC of course.

Boma on a no park day and Crysal Palace on a MK day. But we got to try Ohana sometime ourselves for breakfast only been there for dinner.
