I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I tried to search but... :confused3

Can anyone tell me, for each of the following possibilities, what happens if I want to make a reservation that requires combining my existing points with any additional points I added later, as detailed below? These are hypothetical cases. I'm trying to figure out the best scenario to look for on the Timeshare store.

  1. I buy more points at my home resort with a different use year.
  2. I buy more points at my home resort with the same use year.
  3. I buy more points at a different resort with a different use year.
  4. I buy more points at a different resort with the same use year I have now.

Also, will combining points from different resorts affect my 7 or 11 month window?

ahem...as a matter of fact I do like to make my life complicated. Why do you ask? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm also easily confused. Obviously. :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

1. You really just nmeed to track different banking deadlines and expirations.
2. Seemless.
3. Only have 11 mo window for points at home resort. Banking and expirations dates will always be differ, but at 7 mo window, resort booking is the same.
4. You'll have the same banking windows and expiration dates, but can only book home resort for points at 11 mo window.

If you had 150 SSR points and 50 BWV point, you could not book a 200 point ressie at BWV at 11 months. You could do 50 or bank and borrow to have 150 every 3rd year.

Keep in mind that UY and when you can make ressies are not connected. The only thing that effects making ressies is home resort.

DIffering UY just means a little more tracking of the points.

The answers to those questions were the real reason we did our add-on directly through Disney at our same resort. We wanted to be able to use all our points to book at the 11 month window, so we did a 150 point add on at our same OKW home in our same March use year direct through Disney so it would be simple banking.

Wow, Thanks! I love the DIS -- I always get quick, helpful, EASILY UNDERSTOOD answers!

Thank you both! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

To add to what Carrie said. Having contracts with different use years is the most complicated it can get. And even that isn't difficult if you understand what's going on. In general you must make separate reservations with each contract and then link the reservations. You can always transfer points to combine points for that last night and in some cases that includes banked and borrowed points.

We own OKW, HH, and BVW, all with the same use year. I'd kick myself if I missed a banking deadline, so only having one for all my points is a good thing!
