Need a referral for the current DVC purchase incentive?

I just bought 250 points from Disney and they have me 250 developer points and $8 off per point for AK. We are in the new village at AK, so we cannot book with our '08 points until May of 09. They are giving us points in December of this year.

I have put down the initial down payment, but I have not signed the paperwork. Should I be getting more than just a matching of developer points? I thought the $96 per point price was good enough to buy, but if I should be getting another $500, I do not want to leave anything on the table. We are purchasing with our Disney card.

As long as you put your deposit on your Disney Visa Card you should be getting the $500 in reward points. Be sure to contact your guide about this.

I'm pretty close to buying a DVC, and when I asked my "guide" about this referral discount, he told me it was an internet rumor. He said the member who referred me gets a bonus, but I don't get anything.

So, I am checking to see if indeed this is for real, and if anyone has gotten this discount. If you have, will you please contact me? Maybe I am calling it by the wrong name, or I need to have the guide referred to me, or there is some other detail I am missing.

Dorothy ~ Sent you a PM about what used to be called the "Friends and Family" incentive (sorry...I really didn't mean to send it twice!). Hope it clears things up a bit for you.

That is true the member who refers you gets the bonus. You will get other incentives for buying into DVC but if you are referred by a member and they are in an eligible state then they are the ones to get the bonus for referring you to DVC.

Went through the tour today and now I see this board. Would have loved to give someone a referral...is it too late? They asked for referral info at check-in.
