Is the $500 gift card (with referral) also good for buying AKV? I called our guide the other night and he told me there was no gift card incentive for AKV, but only for Saratoga?

This is the current incentive deal.

the incentive deal is the $10 credit per point for SSR
Plus :
Option #1 a $500 Disney Gift Card with a 160 point contract or
Option #2 a $1000 Disney Gift Card with a 320 point contract

or:
the AKV incentive deal is
1: the $8 credit per point for AKV.
2: June 08 points that can't be used until May 09 when AKVII opens.
3: an equal number of points as a bonus which need to be used in the next 12 months at SSR or II exchange.
4: Dues do not start until May when resort opens.

This is the same for new or current DVC members

Silly question, but why do I need a referral? I can just go to the Disney Doorway to Dreams (?) in Woodfield Mall/IL and they offer me the same deal.

Unfortunately everyone cant get to the Illinois area, I heard they have a really good deal but in most other states those deals are not given. That's where the DIS family comes to the rescue.We will not let anyone not be informed of the incentives like $8-10 discount $500 gift card free vacation etc. Why pay rack rates when you dont have to . I'm looking at purchasing DVC @ AKV. Now, if I know someone that has spent a great deal in teaching me about DVC and all the benefits can she call me in as referral though I've already been assigned a guide? Is the $500 promotion still in play? Is this on top of the developer points and $8 off incentive?

The promotion we got when we purchased on Monday was as follows:

-2008 points can be used now for another resort or banked.
-matching developer points to be used at SSR within 12 months of purchase date.
-$8 dollars off per point price
-500 disney dream reward dollars

So overall we're really happy with our purchase. Already called and got a ressie at SSR for October to use our developer points and we'll use our 500 dream reward dollars to pay for incidentals.
