the best results from all of this is that there will be incredible gridlock and the bush taxcuts will be permanent. wall street LOVES gridlock. i would also hope that those dems who ran as mod/conserv. will stand up to the left side of their party and realize that we NEED border security, we need to win in iraq. i would also hope that republicans would return to their roots and define themselves. my worst fear is that the left liberal wing will attempt to ensure their power by massive social programs that encourage the lazy to sidle up to the national teat. the dems won without defining themselves, by complaining and not having a plan. a national minimum wage will certainly have an impact on our 4.6 unemployment rate and ultimately the economy. this whitwhouse, like previous republican white houses can deal with a hostile congress. reagan did and was quite successful. am i disappointed? absolutely.

When I went to bed last night, things looked very different then the final results. I was just looking on CNN and most of the winners in the closer races were behind when I went to bed last night. Interesting.

I hope that the Democrats use the power the people have given them wisely. The Republicans blew their chance with their vindictiveness, greed and arrogance. If the Democrats don't learn that lesson, they'll be out soon enough too.

God knows the federal government doesn't already have enough of our money. just a question ; do you make enough $$$ to be confiscatorially taxed or do you just like it when it happens to the workers and producers of this economy? hopefully the american voter will comes to their senses by then.

me too. When I went to bed it looked like the Democrats where going to take a minor but respectable lead in the House and probably fall short in the Senate.

You said the tax cuts will be permanent, he pointed out they EXPIRE(and they do) in 2010. HOW does anything the REPUBLICAN congress has talked about the last 4 years change that???
There is no need for the NOW DEMOCRATIC congress to repeal somthing that expires

Considering my wallet and my parents wallet have been steadly getting emptier each year Bush and his buddies have been charge I don't think I'm all that worried. We certaintly(SP?) didn't see any of this tax cut money you all talk about, so if they go away I don't think I will be heartbroken about it.

Oh and by the way, I work over 40 hours a week at a job I have had for years so I'm not just siting on my A$$ expecting a hand out.
