Do not know if this has been posted yet anywhere, but they have changed the location of National/Alamo/Enterprise at Orlando Airport Side A

They are located on the ground floor now, used to be on the 2nd level....Avis and Budget are now on level 2

to get there, you use the crosswalk as in the past, but now must turn left at the escalators and walk down almost to the end of the "garage" to get to National/Alamo/Enterprise

we ended up having to do an additional loop of the airport, as we tried to return our car to the second level yesterday, but National was no longer there ( was not paying attention to signs the first time since was sorta on "autopilot" for the return.....

You will have to travel further to get to the Office/Kiosk now....

Wow, that must be really new. We just rented with National a little over a week ago and returned our car on Jan. 30 to the A side which was upstairs. Thanks for the warning/update. We fly Jetblue or SW and both are on the A side.

We returned our car to National on Feb 2 and it as still on the second floor...

Are you sure you were not on B side? On B side, National is on the first level.

I guess I didn't know there was an A side and B side.

::yes::

Thanks CDN - we mostly fly Southwest now, so I can confirm on 1/31 it was still on the 2nd level on the A side.

gosh, you might be right debbie, I do not know my "a's" from my "b's"

NOT......

it is amazing how some people here second guess when others try to give them the heads UP on a change in procedure that was encountered personally

I'm still confused. Did National change floors on the A side or not?

Yea, was this information correct or a mistake? We will be flying in 3 weeks (if the snow ever melts by then) and come in on Side A.

National has definitely moved to the first floor on the A side. It surprised me when I arrived on 2/6/10. I almost went up the escalator when I saw the new National signs.

BTW - there was only one checkout open when I was there. It took forever.

Thanks for the update. I know all to well about the one check out. Same for us in January (a Thursday morning).

just another reason for not sharing info here on disboards

people will always second guess you even though you are presenting information from personal experience on february 8 2010

we will be wary of adding anything to discussions in the future as a result of "disboards experts" questioning our veracity

I'm personally glad you posted. Of course starting with effective 2/8, might have caught our attention to see that you were indeed the last person in this group to use side A. Whether the information was correct or not, I knew to stay alert when picking up and returning our car to side A, so your post did exactly what it was intended to do and that was to warn us to a change. We rent from side A every other month and do it so often that we no longer even pay attention to the signs, now I will be watching. Thanks.

I'm sorry I questioned you. I only thought it might be a mixup because I fly different airlines and get confused with A and B, they look the same and the 2 following posters were also there this month (I guess before you). Thanks for letting us know.

Thx for the heads up OP! I read a few months ago they were planning to switch the rental companies around (bringing more of them onsite). We can probably expect more changes for a while to come. I think there's construction involved too.

For years we flew Delta (B side) and then switched to Southwest --- and were amazed there were two sides for car rentals. Hadn't really given it much thought to that point. And now we're settled into this pattern and would have ended up in wrong place without the update. This is great info. Thanks again!
