National rental question

I have been entering various product codes, coupons and contract ID"S to get the best price.

so far the best one for 9 days is using the CWL contract ID, product code from mousesavers and a coupon from vacation club.

For an intermediate car, emerald aisle:

1 week rental (1 week @ 160.93) = 160.93,
extra days (1 Variable @45.98) = 45.98

Base rate = 206.91
Less Coupon -15.00

Sub total = 191.91

My question is - what is the variable rate?

I have two extra days past the one week rental and usually it shows up as 2 days @ _ =

Has anyone seen this variable rate?

Thanks

I have seen this same thing for a booking using the Carson-Wagonlit contract code (I assume that's what you mean by CWL) and have also seen it the other way using different contract codes (like Disney Club and AARP). In any case, the variable rate portion is exactly two days if you divide the weekly rate (160.93) by seven to determine the pro-rated daily rate (22.99) and multiply this by 2 for the 2 extra days (45.98). I wouldn't worry about it. It looks like a case of six of one, half a dozen of another.

I used this code in October with no problem. When my receipt printed out, it listed every day, Sunday to Saturday with a daily rate next to it. In my case, everyday was the same rate. But I guess it's possible for it to be different, thus "variable".

Thanks so much Ralph & Pam and DebbieB. That's what it must be because the math works on it. I really was glad to get this rate because it is the best so far but I was worried about what it meant.

Thanks again.

If you have the entertainment book there is a coupon for $20 off. It's only $5 off more than you have now...but every $ counts.:)

Well I tried to find my original post but search is down. Earlier someone said Sam's has a coupon, where do I get this coupon? Do I need to ask the customer service counter? Or is it in the area where the rebate forms are?
