That was an awesome update! Great action shot!

you have forever changed that song for me now.....:lmao:

I don't know about anyone else but when we were there and I saw that Cheetah so close I was a little nervous...they must have some hidden fence or something right?...cause all I was thinking was this jeep is open and I hope he isn't wanting a human snack. ;)

Good NIGHT, Cherie! I"ll bet you can't!! The art of "NO" is a fine art in my book. I"m sure summer, and in particular your trip, will be a welcome time!!
Yeah, I think I will practice the art of "no" more after this week is over! 1 more full school day, then the closing ceremony, then we are freeeeee!!!!

thepoor lion!! He can't even relieve himself without an audience!:lmao::lmao:

that is one of the best safari pics ever!
:lmao:
I thought about taking one with my phone and texting it to you guys that morning but I decided to just save it for the TR. ;) I'm sure Jordan will appreciate a good poop photo.

:rotfl2:
Thanks!

you have forever changed that song for me now.....:lmao:
:rotfl: That's what I was thinking too.

I don't know about anyone else but when we were there and I saw that Cheetah so close I was a little nervous...they must have some hidden fence or something right?...cause all I was thinking was this jeep is open and I hope he isn't wanting a human snack. ;)

I thought about that too but I'm sure there is a fence of some kind. I don't remember looking but I know I've seen the ones that stick out of the ground all around many other animals. Maybe they have that for the cheetah too. :confused3 Although I'm sure a Cheetah could jump right over that so I have no idea. :rotfl:

When I left off, we were leaving AK and heading back to OKW to refresh. Later we had dinner at O'hana at the Poly. This was our first time to try this place. I will start by saying we LOVED it!!! It WAS a bit difficult because of DS's peanut allergy and also the fact that he is a picky eater. With all of the food we had there, he still didn't eat too much. The Chef at this place was AWESOME!!!!! He came out and spoke to us about DS's food allergies. Being as though he is allergic to peanuts AND pea's, it made it even more difficult but the Chef made it easy! He personally cooked the foods that DS could eat and told us that when they came around with our food, only DH and I could eat that. He said not to give DS ANY food unless it was personally delivered to our table by him. He made all of his food fresh and in a designated part of the kitchen. The menu at this restaurant is probably not the best choice for someone with food allergies. We will NOT be eating here again with DS. This decision is only because there just wasn't much that he wanted to eat and not at all based on the restaurant or the staff itself. They bent over backward for us. DS did have a good time with the entertainment at the restaurant. And we just so happened to have a table at the window at the right time for Wishes. It was top notch! :thumbsup2 If we eat here again, it will be only myself and DH for date night if/when family comes with us on a future trip. That way we don't have to stress about DS accidentally eating something he shouldn't. Here are a few pic's from this meal. I wish I could remember what all of the food was but I can't. I just remember it was VERY good.

This is our awesome Chef!!! He made a special desert for DS since he couldn't have anything on the menu. He built it from a pineapple bottom, then brownie, banana's, ice cream scoops, & a cherry on top of a tall skewer. He sat it in front of DS and his eyes got HUGE. Then he held the chocolate syrup up really high and poured it all over the entire thing right in front of DS. He thought that was SO COOL. Seriously, this guy was the best!!

After dinner, I think we took the monorail to MK and walked around for a short while until close. We headed back and fell fast asleep.

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST....

The next morning we took our time getting ready. I checked emails, etc while having my coffee....
4642497703_e236993818.jpg

Then we headed out to ANIMAL KINGDOM!!! (yes, again)

As we walked in, there were CM's standing with insects for people to look at and learn about. This CM was holding a spider. She was talking about how we need spiders and what they can do for us. About this time my son informs her that his mom just smashes them and throws them away. :rotfl2:
OK, time to move on! :rolleyes1 :lmao:

4642491971_ff54a5ccd8.jpg

We head inside and I honestly can't remember what we did first. I don't think we rode Dinosaur because it was down again. I think we got a fast pass after talking to the mean old lady CM.

Then DH and I took turns doing the single rider line at Expedition Everest. I took my ride and it was great. Then DH goes in, I see a few cars come out of the mountain, then.......nothing. We wait, then wait, then wait. There is a car stuck at the top of the ramp where you are just coming out of that temple thing in the very beginning. I was getting worried and tried to text him but realized his cell phone was in his backpack which I was HOLDING! :headache: After about 20 minutes he comes strolling out. Luckily he was on the train right after the one stuck at the top. He said they took off, went about 3 feet, then the train just stopped. Thank goodness he got off because that other train didn't get the people off for over an hour (or more)! We rode Dinosaur next but when we crossed the bridge out of Dinoland and looked across the lake, the train was still up there with people on it.

Pics that DH took while I rode EE....

4642495585_d5c5234567.jpg

FINALLY, we get to use our fastpasses on the Dinosaur ride. This was DS's first try. How do you think he did?? Well, he was nervous but determined. I could tell he was scared but not scared enough to not get on the ride. If he is too scared he would have never got in the car and put the seatbelt on. He would have totally freaked out right before and he didn't so we were good to go. He had one arm completely wrapped around DH's arm and the other hand was holding on to the handle between us. He wanted me to hold on to him while he held on to daddy. :rotfl2: He had it all figured out, right? Anyway, once the ride started, I realized quickly that there was something I forgot to tell him about.....how extremely loud it is! He immediately tried to plug his ears but didn't want to let go of DH's arm. So basically I tried to help him hold his ears through the entire ride while he held on to DH for dear life. :rotfl: He wasn't freaking out, just very wide-eyed and taking it all in. Here is our ride picture.......
4642605589_e763a57281.jpg

After the ride, he said he was a little scared but not too bad. He said he liked it but didn't want to ride it again in one day. :lmao: He says he plans on doing it again on our upcoming trip in June. We shall see!!

After this we rewarded him by letting him buy a dinosaur from the gift shop, a special Dinosaur pin, and then a trip to the boneyard to run off some energy.
His favorite spot....the dig site.

This particular day was rainy all day. I believe we ended up heading back to OKW early and just relaxing until our ADR at Hoop Dee Doo this night!! (One of our absolute favorites!)
Hangin' at OKW. Love the way he sits to watch TV. :confused3 That's the dino he got from the gift shop....
4642498225_526851569c.jpg

Around 6pm we started heading over to Fort Wilderness so that we could catch an internal bus to Pioneer Hall. We got checked in and our picture was taken....
4643246700_240dd3eb8b.jpg

They come around to the tables later to sell those pictures to you. We usually buy them because we don't have many pictures of the 3 of us together. These are our family portraits. :lmao:

Rather than post all of our Hoop Dee Doo pictures like I always do, this time I'm going to post a video of the opening song.

After we got our fill of fried chicken, BBQ ribs, beans, salad, cornbread, mashed potatoes, beer(DH), wine(me), sprite(ds), and most importantly...LAUGHS....we headed back to OKW and went to bed so that we could wake early and do it all over again the next day. Ain't Disney grand??? :thumbsup2

Great Update

The chef at Ohanas sound awesome

Love the dessert he made for your DS :thumbsup2

Love the look on the CM's face who has the spiders. I guess your son just told her about you killing spiders:rotfl2:

Another great update Cherie!

When we were at 'Ohana last summer we discovered pea pods in amongst the broccoli. My oldest daughter is allergic to peas, so our server brought her her own plate of broccolini from the kitchen for Kona Cafe.

I can't believe you had the same grouchy CM at Dinosaur!. I'm glad that you finally got to ride it though, and that your son made it through pretty well. Good job on giving him a little reward from the gift shop! :thumbsup2

Awesome update Cherie !!! I didn't tell Judy and the kids what Dinasuar was like and afterwards they were extremely unhappy with me !!! I however love it !!! Not Rollercoasters but Dinasaur is awesome !!!!

That Chef at the Poly was wonderful!!! I want one of those desserts !!!!

AWesome O'hana pictures!!!

Mmmmm, I spy with my little eye a lapu lapu!! YUM!!!!!

Yes! Disney IS grand.... and so are your trip reports! I'm glad school is finally over so I can get caught back up on all of my favorite TRs!

The chef at O'Hana sounded amazing.. I hope you and DH get to go back. My favorite thing EVER at O'Hana is the peanut dipping sauce. Were you able to try that yourself? Or did you avoid all peanut-ty things? The dessert looked great too!

Can't believe those folks were stuck on EE that long! Can you imagine if your DH was stuck that whole time? UGH!!

Love HDD review! We went for our 1st time over Spring Break and just LOVED it!! Such a fun atmosphere. Just wish the tickets were a bit cheaper...

Great update as usual!:thumbsup2

I so glad you enjoyed your dinner at 'Ohana's. Up until this last trip we've loved it. The entertainment is usually big help if you have kids. You had a great Chef and I just love the fact he went out of his way on the desert.

Kudos to your son for riding Dinosaur and keeping his eyes open. Danielle has been riding it since she was 4 and didn't start opening her eyes until she was almost 10. We bought her something special when she rode it and Tower of Terror for the first time.

Someday I'll make it to Hoop De Do. I like corny humor.

cret of mine about being a Saints fan all my life. At some point of my adult life, I realized I needed some sort of "outlet" for the stress of watching this team play. That's when I re-discovered Twizzlers. When I watch the Saints I usually have the regular "football snacks" around....chips, dips, etc. but I also have to have a HUGE bag of Twizzlers to knaw on during the stressful times. Otherwise I find myself grinding my teeth and end up with a huge headache. :rolleyes1 Anyhoo....so DH cracked open a beer, and I opened that bottle of wine that I purchased in France earlier. Yes, i know..... "beer, wine, & twizzlers" what a winning combination.

For this game......WE NEEDED THAT 1 POUND BAG OF TWIZZLERS!!! By the time the game was over, the bag was about 4 twizzlers shy of empty. There were so many ups and downs with emotions during the entire game. It was so nerve wracking but so surreal all at the same time. Our beloved Saints are in the Superbowl!! I really don't have pictures from this time. I had my laptop set up on the dining table where I could see the game, and type to friends on Facebook back home. I think I did an update on my PTR during that time that said.....

"Someone tell me what is better than watching your favorite team in the Superbowl while also watching the fireworks from EPCOT off your balcony????

THIS NIGHT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!! "

I also exchanged a few texts with Jordan who was watching with Winkers & DJay in Derek & Wendy's room at BLT. He was super happy for us too! They all told us Congrats when we saw them later.

All in all....DH and I had a blast. We did get loud quite a few times. We jumped up and high fived and I'm not sure but I think one time we may have belly bumped in the air. I know there was the last touch down when we jumped up and started screaming and he picked me up and threw me in the air. :rotfl2:

All of this and a few tears, and no we did not get kicked out of our hotel. I did like watching while at Disney but at the same time you do miss the folks back home. Thanks to whoever invented Facebook. It was refreshing so fast it almost looked like a chat room. There were reports from all over that there were fireworks going off in the streets....even inside the city limits which is a huge "no-no". I do believe that someone even wrote that they saw POLICE doing it too. :lmao: So much for the "rules"!!! So, part of me would have liked to be a part of that. But the other part of me realized with ONE question and ONE answer on that TV, that it was SUPER COOL that we were at WDW at that moment in time........

"Drew Brees, you and the New Orleans Saints are celebrating your first superbowl victory! What are you going to do next???"

"I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!"

And so he DID!!!

Up next, EMH at MK and an early Monday morning on a freezing cold bench for 2 hours to catch a VERY SPECIAL parade!!!

Here are a few pictures from the Super bowl & celebrations....

I'm glad they won! I'm glad we sort of got to share the day with you...:thumbsup2

In my last update, we were heading out of our hotel to go to MK for EMH. I had been texting Jordan during the game, and I knew they (jordan, winkers, djay, and rosie) were on their way to MK from BLT. When we arrived on Main Street. I got a call from Rosie! They would meet us by Casey's. Off we went!! When we met up with them we got a lot of "CONGRAT'S" from all of them. We were still on a major "high" from the game. It felt AWESOME to go from that to the MK. At one point I looked over and saw something very strange!! It was super cold AGAIN that night but nothing a jacket couldn't take care of. This is what I saw strolling down Main Street at around 11pm....

Yes, 2 women in their Snuggies!! You never know what you will see at Disney.

The group had decided that they would let DS pick what we would ride. DH and I thought that was super sweet of them! 1st up.....what else....Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin!! Off we go....

4548524247_e321549290.jpg

Everyone doubled up and DS rode with DH so that left me being a loner. That happened a lot on this trip. When we first started going to WDW DS loved to ride with me. Now that he's getting older, I'm chopped liver when it comes to rides, I guess. He now chooses to ride with daddy. It's a boys thing I suppose.

After Buzz, it was time for the "blue ride"...AKA...the Tomorrowland Transportation Authority....or I like to call it.... The People Mover. What can I say, old habits die hard.

4548525991_4d0acc602e.jpg

After this, DS wanted to ride the Indy cars. Jordan and Winkers were talking about doing Space Mountain. DH said he'd go with DS to do the Indy cars and for me to do SM w/jordan and winkers. DJay stayed with Rosie since apparently she is deathly affraid of roller coasters. I did not know that until that very moment! She had a bad experience on the BARN STORMER!!! :rotfl2:

All of the rides this night were walk on. I think we waited maybe 5 minutes to get on SM. During that time Jordan, Winkers and I had a conversation about a rumor that I've heard for years about someone's head getting chopped off on that ride. Jordan said it was TRUE!!! Winkers and I looked at each other like this :scared1: When it came time to get on the ride, we let Jordan sit in the front. :rotfl2: Yes, we are sad. The ride has been refurbished but it is still the rocket type cars where you sit front to back rather than side by side. I thought they were changing that but it's cool that they didn't. We ended up in the first car of the train. So it was Jordan, then Winkers, then me. Winkers and I were trying to scruntch ourselves as short as we could so that our heads were not sticking out in any manner. Everytime Jordan screamed, we screamed even louder!! It was a fun ride and we had a really good time laughing at ourselves afterwards for being slightly cowardly!! On the way out of the ride, there are cameras and screens so you can see yourself pass yourself by. Very strange but highly entertaining for 3 goofballs such as ourselves.

I don't know what he was doing but at some point Jordan decided to face the camera's and stand straight up with this one expression. As he rode past himself, all of the monitors started to fill up with just him. I guess you had to be there but it was hilarious. The people around us thought we were a little weird but who cares! We're in Disney World!!!
4549159932_52e7d0e249_b.jpg

:rotfl2: It almost looks like a mug shot.

After all of this we started heading back toward the hub because we were all going to ride Pirates of the Caribbean.
4548528161_152f1121af_b.jpg

I spotted a photopass person with nothing to do!!

OMG, look at DH!! Jordan has converted him too!!

About to get on Pirates! DS was excited but nervous as usual. He really does love this ride.
4549161682_780c13b621.jpg

After pirates it was about 12:30am. EMH lasted until 1am. The gang was going to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad but DS has not mastered that one yet. It was okay though because he was asking to ride Peter Pan. We thought it'd be a good idea to run over there really quick to see if we could get on before 1. The past few trips we have not been able to ride it due to extremely long wait times....even with fast pass. We made it over there at about 12:37am. It was walk on, of course! Love those EMH in the winter!!
After we got off of PP, we still had a few more minutes and so we decided to hit Dumbo since that usually has a long line during the day too. We walked right on Dumbo!! Actually if we had been there about 1 minute earlier, DS would have gotten to ride with a character! Donald was riding with a little girl and goofy was on with a boy. I think chip and dale came out right after we took off and was signing autographs by the carousel. We have been to EMH at MK many times before and I can tell you that we NEVER saw any of that at that time of the night. It was pretty cool.
DH and DS to the right, and Donald to the left...

4549162692_06a2b64052.jpg

After Dumbo there was 10 minutes until closing so we jumped on Winnie the Pooh and made that our last ride of the night. So if you look back, you will see that we were able to walk on MANY rides in just 2 hours. And THAT is why I love going in February! Although, I don't think that will happen anymore...unless it's for mardi gras holiday. DS is starting 1st grade next year. They start frowning upon pulling them out of school after kindergarten.

The castle on our way out.....
4548530029_0859abcdf6.jpg

4548530463_12510245bb.jpg

Being as though we got there at 11pm, we were able to snag a FRONT ROW parking spot. We hopped the monorail back and walked to our spot. Then headed back for sweet dreams of starting all over again the next day.

UP NEXT DAY 3!!!

Can I just say that I'm crying a little right now. I really miss you guys!!!!!! What a GREAT night that was. Space Mountain was SCARY....never again in the front for me...

At one point a group of people showed up across from us with a big Saints banner. I was trying to get DH to take a picture of me with them in the background. I had no idea that a crazy Japanese man was sneeking up behind me! I turned around and discovered him when DH and everyone around him started laughing. :rotfl:

I love the picture of me behind you...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

When I left off we were headed over to Animal Kingdom!! We actually went to this park a few times this trip and since my pictures are all mixed up now, I will ATTEMPT to figure out what we did this day. :rotfl:

I believe we started off by heading straight for DINOSAUR!! DS said he wanted to brave Dinosaur this trip. DH and I figured he would back out of that statement once we were at WDW but he didn't. On the way to AK he said that today was his day to ride it for the first time. So off we went!! The line was sort of long but we decided to do stand by. I'm not sure why other than the fact that we thought that if we get in line then maybe DS wouldn't back out. Here are a few pics from our wait in line.....

4581200905_e90009c8f2.jpg

Nervous but eager!!

4581201583_79bf054f42.jpg

After a while we decided to skip the stand by line and get a fastpass for later. The line just wasn't moving AT ALL. So, away we went.....grabbed a fast pass then headed over to Expedition Everest so DH and I could do the single rider line. The ride itself was great except for the part I mentioned previously to Dan about getting run over by some brazilians on the way off the ride.

After this we played around in Dinoland, then it was time for Dinosaur!! We get there and.......it's broken. They told us that if it's still broken by closing time that they would accept our fastpasses tomorrow. Ok, cool!! It was around 2 or 3 by this time. We decided to head over to ride the Safari ride. Surprisingly, there were a few animals out that I got pictures of that I've never gotten before. Such as the ostrich(sp?)......
4601839131_559a003359.jpg

And the Cheetah.....
4601839119_709c58df61_b.jpg

And THE LION WAS OUT!!!! The guide got everyone so excited and our cameras were out and ready when we rounded the corner and, well......I took this picture especially for Jordan!!! ;)

4601839123_c9433777cc.jpg

After we left the Safari, it was almost time for the parade. We've never seen the Jammin' Jungle parade before. We keep hearing that it is top notch but we weren't sure if we wanted to endure ANOTHER parade and on the same day no less. Well, as we are walking along, we cross a bridge and there is rope with a small space on the other side. I asked the CM if we could watch from there and she said yes. It seemed like a good spot where people couldn't really crowd you too much so we snagged it and sat right against the rope. I will tell you......THIS WAS THE BEST PARADE EVER!!!! We loved it and only had kind people with small kids on either side of us. It was heaven. Here are pic's from that parade. I will post some video at the end of this update too!

Parade video:

Here are some photopass pictures that we took on this day. The first photographer we had wasn't that great. He wouldn't wait for the other people to leave before taking our picture so we have them in our pics. However, the 2nd one we ran into later in the day was awesome!

4601788827_087c939c7c.jpg

After the parade, it was park closing time.....or so we thought. We followed the parade out and left the park. By using the new Disney Mobile Magic on our cell phones, we could see that Dinosaur was still not working. We thought we could use the fastpasses the next day like we were told. WRONG!!! What I didn't realize was that they had added evening magic hours to AK that day and they ended up getting Dinosaur up and running before close. So our fastpasses the next day were no good.....according to a very stern older CM lady they next morning. So we started all over again the next day. :rolleyes1

Up next......dinner at O'hana!! O'hana means "Family".

thanks for the lion picture!!!;) everyone poops

Okay caught up...missed most of the chatter since I have like 50 threads to catch up on not to mention my own....

mmm more ohana pics for me to salavat over till i eat there.

very cool, dino pic, you could tell he was a little scared but kinda liked it.

im not really a fan of that ride anymore, way to bumpy and jerky for me.
