National Days to celebrate - updated now 2025 June 1-8

Today April 7th was burrito day so while we were out and about we had the idea we would stop by Taco Bell's for burritos. We drive into the parking lot and there were a lot a people around the front door so we thought oh no the kids from the high school are all here. Then we noticed the dumpster and the Home Depot truck out front and guess what - they are closed for renovations. I know that some people don't like Taco Bells but we don't mind it so it was going to be our splurge today. I had to come home and make a breakfast burrito instead since there aren't any other taco joints nearby. My brother will have to drown his sorrows with a beer on Beer Day. Oh well more days coming up to celebrate.

Mon April 11th Cheese Fondue day - planning on doing that one and I have found our old eight track machine and I am going to see if the 8-tracks still play.
Tues April 12 - use some of the leftover fondue cheese for the Grilled Cheese sandwich.
Friday April 15 - National McDonalds Day - the day that Roy Kroc opened the first McDonalds. I may go for breakfast but not lunch. We shall see.

I taught both of my kids how to do laundry labour day weekend before they went to high school and from that moment on our daughter never matched her socks! She would just dump them in her drawer in a pile, never wore a matching set from that day forward. So if a sock of hers gets lost or worn out she doesn't care

Today was a big do everything National Day in my house.
For crouton day I made a family favourite - Chicken Crouton. For dessert we had Apple Pie and for a snack we had Fruit Cocktail.
We were going to watch Top Gun but hockey and basketball got in the way so I guess that could be Blame Someone Else for not doing it. Tada lots celebrated today.
