My friends and I are doing the Catamaran Sail and Reef Snorkeling excursion at Nassau on the 3 night cruise and had a quick question...the DCL website says that the excursion starts at 9:00 AM yet the cruise line says that guests don't get ashore until 9:30 AM. Do we get off the ship early? I'm sure we will find out when we get on the ship but we're trying to figure out everything in advance. Thanks for all the help!

Is there anybody there that can help? Any past cruisers that took this excursion? Any comments about it?

I'm not speaking from personal experience yet ~ my virgin cruise isn't until January 2006 . . .

Having said that, it is my understanding that the 9:00 time is the time that you will meet in your designated spot on the boat so that you all exit the boat together and make your way toward your excursion point.

We are thinking about doing that excursion too, you'll have to let us know how it is!!!

That makes sense that we would meet onboard before we departed for the excursion. I'll make sure to tell you all about it.

DH and DD did this tour on our May 2004 cruise. They did in deed have to meet up with the group prior to going on shore. The where and when will be provided with your excursion tickets. By the way, they had a great time and saw lots of fish.

This is a great excursion I'm sure you'll have fun.

Bring water from the ship for burning eyes from the salt water. If you have a bottle already, just fill it on the ship. You might want to buy a bottle or two before you leave. It is hot, they do sell water along the way, but it is pricey of course. They did provide water in little, little cups during the ride to the snorkel site.

Sit with your feet in the net, it is right next to the ladder where you enter the water. The kids loved it because they sat/laid in the net and got splashed a bit. You can too if you want!!!

I don't remember any lunch, just rum punch, virgin punch and potatoe chips on the way back. Beware of the rum punch if you didn't have much breakfast. ;)

We did meet at the time and place stated on the "tickets" which were in our stateroom. We went as a group to the boat.

I would recommend this excursion to anyone except fearful, non-swimmers. Pretty reef and many fish.

We were not served lunch; just pretzels, water (on the way to the site), and fruit and rum punch (on the way back to port). The excursion was great. We were able to get a full hour in the water which was crystal clear and had tons of fish in it. It was really great.
