Are there any within walking distance of the pier? I know we want to see the beach I'm just not sure how much time we will spend there so I didn't want to go to far.
I've heard there is one you can walk to (maybe not a beach, but a swimming area), as we had adventuresome table mates who went there once. Apparently they were the only tourists there! I don't know where it was, but my husband and I have taken a cab to the public beach on Paradise Island a few times. Even though it's over the bridge, you can get there and back pretty quickly via cab and the cost is minimal ($4 to $5 per person).

Yep, just tell the cab driver and they will know. It was actually via a cab driver that we found it. You can use the rest room in the hotel next door. I've never been to Cable Beach so I can't compare.

The beach within walking distance is the Hilton's beach, but it costs (I believe) $15 per person. The cheapest beach is Cable Beach. It's about a 15-20 minute bus or cab ride. I prefer the bus--it's $1 per person. Cable Beach and its beach chairs are free for your use. I've always had a good time at Cable Beach--not too crowded, clean. Paradise Island Beach has been too rough to swim in when I've gone. Here I am with my boyfriend at Cable Beach, July 2004:
Hi, This is my first post. I would like more info on beaches in Cable Beach. My Dh and I stayed at the Raddison at Cable Beach for our Honeymoon 10 years ago.
We are doing the 7 day land and sea cruise in May 2005. Are the beaches in Cable Beach at a Resort?? Are the pools avail??
Cable Beach is behind several resorts. I've walked through the Nassau Beach Hotel to get to the beach, and there's no problem.
The bus stop is next to Haagen Daz on Bay Street (the main drag). It's bus 10.
I've never used the pools. Someone else might be able to answer your ?.
