Hubby and I are going to Nashville this weekend. Does anybody have suggestions on where to eat? Things to do? We're only there for Friday and Saturday.

Thank you!!
Ginny

Not sure what is going on this weekend.

The First Center for the visual arts downtown has a really nice exhibit of art right now. Downtown also has the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Go to the Opryland Hotel. Everyone should see it once! It takes a while to explore

As to eating. Where are you staying?

Downtown has the Palm if you want to splurge. (Acutally lunch s reasonable) Fun place to see and the food is good.

One of my favorites is the Sunset Grill (get directions from your hotel.) It is near Vanderbilt.

The Opry Mills mall is fun with a ton of great restaurants...I love the Rainforest Cafe...and a nice movie theater. I second the visit to the Opryland Hotel also.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you both!!! We're staying at the Doubletree (downtown location). We have plans for Saturday night...but we were looking for something fun (and inexpensive) for Friday night and during the day on Saturday. I've been looking on the Nashville Visitor's website and have some coupons, etc...but for places to eat and things to do, well...it's usually better to check with the locals for great deals.

If you want to just hang around downtown, the Old Spaghetti Factory is on 2nd Avenue.
It's very reasonably priced. We like it. The Wildhorse Saloon is on 2nd Avenue, Hard Rock Cafe - 2nd and Broadway. It all depends on what you like.

Have fun Ginny.

Demos downtown is fabulous as well.. Not too fancy, but good food!

We ate at a Barbeque place right down town. It was a man's first name but I can't remember it. They had a Peyton Manning football jersey from U of T hanging in the restaurant. It was recommended by locals, not much to look at but the food was great.
I just remembered..it was Jacks Barbeque.

Thank you for all the suggestions!!

Ginny

Downtown Nashville will likely be an extremely busy place this coming weekend as the Nashville Predators will be playing the Detroit Red Wings at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in the 6th game, of the 1st round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I believe the game is in the afternoon so depending on the outcome, Downtown Nashville could be a little bit rowdy! Go Preds!

Have a great trip! Nashville is a great city!

Hey carolIA, the Sunset Grill is our favorite place to eat whenever we are in Nashville! Really good food, and we like the atmosphere--not too formal, loud enough to have fun--. Good recommendation. :D
