Sorry about Mike missing out on the shootout... :(

We've had PLENTY of Nascar since hubby got XM radio for Christmas....it's Nascar in the morning, Nascar in the evening... well, I'm sure a pattern is starting to emerge. :)

4.) Ryan Newman
5.) Jeff Gordon

Just an FYI, they have a bunch of Disney Daytona 500 shirts and sweatshirts at the Disney store on sale (at least my local one did). All the Daytona 500 stuff was 33% off. I got myself a nice tee for around $10.

#8-Dale Earnhardt Jr.
#24-Jeff Gordon
#29-Kevin Harvick
#5-Terry Labonte

Loved watching Jr. and Tony run the Rolex - what a heartbreak of a finish!

Got to meet Terry Labonte Saturday night at World or Wheels in Chicago - it was a quick autograph type thing but he seemed happy to be there and looked great.

So glad racing season is back!

The Gillette Young Guns Sweepstakes is up and running. Each week you log in and pick which one of the 6 Young Guns (Johnson, Busch, Kenseth, Earnhardt, Newman and Harvick) you think will have the best finish. If you are right you are entered into a drawing where you can possibly win $5000 (can you say trip to a race or trip to Disney).::yes:: There are 36 races, 36 chances to win $5000. Here's the link: http://www.gilletteyoungguns.com/ Good luck. There is also a chance to win $5 million but for that one the six young guns have to sweep the Charlotte race and you have to predict which order they will finish in. I entered that one but it's a snowball's chance in well....you know where that anyone will win that.

Attention Gordon fans - Jeff will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight (Jan 29). If you haven't seen his buzz cut yet tonight would probably be a good time to check it out

If you watched the show, Jeff alluded to some fans at Watkins Glen who had a poster of him in all different kinds of dress. He told the story about him stopping by, taking a picture and then signing the poster. Well, I was the creator of the poster. He did stop by and take a picture of it but he never signed it. They even did a spread about our campsite in a Sports Illustrated article called Speed Demon. The writer really took creative liberty when penning that article.

Also, welcome to all of the new posters on the board....especially the Dale Jr. fans!!!

Anyway, here are my picks for the shootout and since it is a practice game, I'll throw in what seem like a couple of upsets:

1) #88 Dale Jarrett

2) #2 Rusty Wallace

3) #8 Dale Jr.

4) #4 Jamie McMurray

5) #20 Tony Stewart

Spare...Boris Said (Road Warrior)

LET'S GO RACING!!!!

So wait a minute, I read that article and after Jeff left they said the person yelled something (which I don't think I can post here) - that wasn't you was it Adam? You didn't yell at Jeff that he still....? And were Elliott Sadler and Jimmie Johnson really with him when it happened?

So, who else has signed up at the Budweiser site to play their game? Should we make a team over there, I'll do it if we have 4 or 5 who are going to play that one every week. One of us is bound to win something.

Finally, an note for folks in SC and GA - run to your nearest Pigly Wigly and check out the sweepstakes they are running with the following prizes:
(1) 4 suite passes to the Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 race in
Darlington,SC on 3/21/04, incl parking and pit passes. Value $640
(10) 2 tickets to the Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 race in
Darlington, SC on 3/21/04, incl pit passes. Value $140
(15) 2 tickets to the Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 race
in Darlington, SC on 3/21/04. Value $45

ToriLammy, you know me better than that. The guy that yelled "You Still _____" was from the next campsite over. In the Sports Illustrated article he was the guy that had a "pie for a face". He belonged to the guys that had a bus decked out in Rusty Wallace garb.

Yes Elliot Sadler and Jimmy Johnson were with him when they visited and, if you ever saw me, they all look like little guys. We had a good laugh with them. But Jeffy boy never signed my poster like he said and the reporter wrote. I still have the poster at home.

I think the drivers talk to each other when they are in the motorhome park at the Glen. I usually bring my DJ equipment along with a movie screen and LCD projector to show movies at night. Usually we have about 100 people or so show up to watch. 2 years ago we had Dale Jarrett, Bobby Labonte, Kenny Schrader and Hut Strickland show up at our site to watch some of the movie. We have a "no autograph" policy on our site and most people obey it and do not swamp the drivers when they show up. Kenny Schrader crashed his golfcart into a ditch going back to the motorhome. I went to his souvineer trailer the next day (he was having an autograph signing) and I asked him if he was coming to our site that night (Saturday). He said that he got in trouble for crashing the cart the night before and he couldn't come out and play!!!;)

Anyway, I'm sure you'll be reading about us again as I always have great posters for the races.

If it were me I'd send him the poster (with a copy of the article) to have it autographed and sent back ;) If he's telling folks on National TV that he signed it I'd demand that he actually do it! And Yes Adam I do think I know you better than that, I was just playing with ya. Trying to keep the thread at the top of the page and lively:wave2: Your time at Watkins Glen sounds like a blast...wish I could attend and check it out. Maybe someday, DH has family in CT, we'll try and time a visit to them and then come check out the Glen. You'll have to post pictures from the Glen this year so those of us who can't attend can see it.

Tori - I'm signed up at the Bud site. I also signed up for the Gillette Young Guns too. Keep me posted about the team?

Here are my picks

1. #2 Wallace (ALWAYS my #1!)
2. #12 Newman
3. #8 Junior
4. #20 Stewart
5. #29 Harvick

I CAN NOT WAIT. I AM GOING THROUGH NASCAR WITHDRAW!
GOOOOOOOO RUSTY! Prove you still got it!!!

Don't forget, your first look at the cars for the Bud Shoot Out tomorrow at 3:45PM EST on Speed. For those of you unfortunates who have to work another practice is scheduled for 5:30PM EST also on Speed. (Being Retired Air Force and a Stay at home Mom comes in handy sometimes :) ) Boogity, Boogity, Boogity and Crank it UP!

You guys gotta see this Coke Commercial (probably see it a lot this year but...) here's sneak peak. Stewart fans are going to love it (sorry JR fans he's not a Coke Family Driver but Waltrip is). Click on RC Cars ;)

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the Scott Wimmer "situation". He was charged with a DUI and hit & run. His license was suspened and he has a court case. Apparently NASCAR will wait until after he goes to court to decide if they will take any action. He will be driving in the 500. What does everyone think of this? Seems Kyle Petty is none to happy. I tried to put the link in but I'm doing something wrong.:( NASCAR.com
