NASCAR Fans - Official Countdown to Daytona 500 (Disney Pace cars pics! ) Thread

:wave2: Hi 2bemarried and Sarah_Carter,
Nice to see some more fellow Jr. fans join in :D . Can't wait for the season to begin!

Feb. can't get here fast enough!! Thanks to "Santa" (me) everyone now has a flag to hang up.
Self & DD: Dale Jr. #8
DS: Dale Jarrett #88
Mom: Michael Waltrip #15
Grandfather: Kurt Busch #97
Come Feb.1 they will all get hung off our front porch. Yeah!!
:D

:Pinkbounc Thanks Valerie.....you're a Junior fan AND a Clay fan :) VERY VERY KEWL!!

:Pinkbounc 4 Weeks Until the Bud Shoot Out. Boris Said had a decent practice in the #1 Army car and is ready to take on NASCARs finest in the Bud Shoot out. I really hope Boris does well.

:bounce: 5 Weeks Until the Daytona 500 - and we hear those famous words for the first time of the season (By the way did you know Ben Affleck is the Grand Marshall).

Did anyone catch the NEXTEL commercial where Jr. dreams he is the running back in a football game (in his car) and Micheal wakes him up after he scores a touchdown and does a doughnut in the endzone? I nearly fell off of my chair when I saw that one! Anyway, bumping this back to page 1. Only 18 days and 12 hours left until the shootout! Go JR!!!

Adam aka Big Dude

Yep, I saw the commercial. I had read about it before hand so I knew to watch the football game - I only watched to see the commercial - is that crazy or what? ;)

I read about that commerical but didn't see it. Sounds like a good one. I did see DW get interviewed during half time of the Eagles game. Sadly that was the best part of the game.

:D I hadn't heard the commercial would be on but it was a pleasant surprise! Loved it, wished he could do that while the Patriots were on the field ;) !

Saw the Jr commercial and loved it. I can't wait.

Darn, I forgot that was on this morning. I was watching Live with Regis and Kelly - oh well. I'm sure I'll have lots of opportunities to read and hear about it between now and the start of racing season. From what I read it will definitely make the last 10 races crucial to those in the top 10 - no more "comfortable" points lead for the leader now you are only 5 points ahead - one DNF and you could be out of contention. It really doesn't seem fair to me but I do know that I'll still watch ;)

I agree ToriLammy, it doesn't seem fair that someone who could be in the lead all season could lose in the end if they catch some bad luck. I know I will still be watching though (and perhaps cursing at the tv). I saw some of the drivers talking about the points system on ESPN and they had some mixed feelings on it. Dale Jr. said that they should think about things more while Mikey Waltrip thought it was great. Guess we'll all just have to wait and see  .

I think the new rules/points system is going to make for an interesting finish to the season. I can hear DH bickering now when Jeff Gordon isn't in the position he thinks he should be. (that would be #1)

Nice picture of Tony's car....good to see another Stewart fan here on the board......Andy

Andy,

I was going to leave my sig blank until I saw your post. Your sig and avatar made me do it. This is the 2004 paint for the Home depot Monte Carlo.

Your DH is a smart man ;) Another Gordon fan here.

Well, Mikey would think it's great and probably wishes they had started in 2003 cause after the Richmond race he was in 10th place so he'd have been in the "Chase for the Championship" ;) He lost 5 positions in the last 10 races - losing a lot of money in the end. Being locked in at least 10th would have guaranteed him a better payday at seasons' end.

Hopefully we'll see that 2004 paint job in victory lane more than 2 times this year.....he needs a strong run to make it into the final cut ..... Andy

DH read that Jeff shaved his head this winter. The interview sounded like he tried to cut his own hair and messed it up so he had it shaved. I can't imagine....

Drove past the track this morning. The big hospitality tents are up, banners hanging from the stands and a score of vendor trucks in line to make deliveries. Won’t be long until we will be hearing the Thunder roar.
