I have been debating weather to go to Narcoossee's Yachtsman Steakhouse or The Fling Fish for my trip to disney. Are They all 2 points on the DDP? What are they like Food wise and Atmosphere wise?

Thank You Captain Hooked On Disney

Wow - tough choice. You'll be happy with any of these.

I'd go for Yachtsman, because I love their filet, not to mention the atmosphere and great service. We also love the rolls there. Yeah, pretty sad when you get down to having to chose a restaurant according to the rolls - but these are really good! Pull-apart onion rolls served with a large slab of butter and roasted garlic to spread on them. :thumbsup2

That garlic on teh rolls is worth going for. ;) In fairness, I havent been to the other 2, but I would go to YSH. After 4 amazing meals there it would be hard not to choose that option. :goodvibes

I would have to vote for the Yachtsman Steakhouse too, we love the atmosphere, the food is always great - never have had to ever send a item back to be redone. All of their food is made fresh as you order and they still hand cut their steaks everyday.

I have to agree with OKW Lover and CamColt the rolls are awesome!! My 4.5 year old nephew loved them he had 4 then his whole dinner.

The chefs are awesome and so are the managers there. They have their staff very well trained and it is shows. I go to the yachtsman 4-6 trips every year and have been going over the last 3 years. Everyone I have taken has wanted to go back.

Have a great time whatever you decide!

Happy Holidays! :santa:

OK, I'll be the first to offer a different opinion!! I've eaten at all 3 a few times and I'd have to pick Flying Fish. Maybe it's because I'm not a huge meat eater or maybe it's because we have better steakhouses here at home. I do think that the Yachtsman is very good but nothing special. The fish at Flying Fish is not food that I can get at home so I think that's special. Narcoosees would be a distant 3rd choice.

Another vote for FF. Been to all three and based on our experiences FF wins handsdown. While service is pretty good at all 3, food quality has been best at FF for us.

I also think it has to do with what exactly you like too. If you're a fish fan then FF is a must. If you're more into steak (although FF does have an excellent strip steak), there are lots of varieties at YSH. We weren't crazy about the atmosphere or service there our last visit. (there were actually a few ants on our table, yes at a top notch restaurant like that-anything is possible in FL). When I asked the host if we could be moved (discreetly), he acted as if he didn't believe me. Oh well. It's FL, it's really possible. Of course they couldn't find any on there after we were moved but the lighting in the restaurant could make that difficult-next time they need to sit at the table for a bit (and this was inside).

Narcoosee's was really good at one time but we were quite disappointed when we went back last summer. I got the salmon, dry and tasteless. The house salad was teeny. The lobster that was going out looked pretty good. Service was pretty good but the servers can't fix the food.

FF has been consistent every visit and there have been quite a few.

We dined at the Flying Fish a month ago and it was the best meal of the trip. I had the chef's specialty, potato encrusted red snapper, and my wife had the day's special, opa. I would return there tomorrow if I could.

For lobster go to Narcooses, for steak go to Yachtsmen. Depends on which you prefer. :thumbsup2

I like flying fish. The atmosphere is incomparable. Yachtman has been okay, very inconsistent. We've had it fantastic in past years, and when we went 11/01 (right after 911, may have something to do with it) it was mediocre. After that it has just been average. Haven't been to Narcoosses in about 8 years, but it was very good. Would definately rank it over Yachtsman.

All things being equal another vote for the Flying Fish.

I suppose it ultimately depends on if you want steak go to the Yachtsman if you want Fish go to FF.

B.

I can only speak for Yachtsman here, I have never been disappointed by a meal from there :thumbsup2

another vote for Flying Fish. just excellent.

I'm going to put my two cents in and vote for Narcoossees. Having been to all three I still go to Narcoossees every trip. The service is outstanding...the best I've had on Disney property each time we go. Flying Fish is great, but I think the atmosphere is somewhat lacking...high noise level and tables that seem too close together...seems very cavernous to me also. While the steak is awesome, I was disappointed in some of the fish dishes. YSH has great meat, but I think the service is a bit "uppity" and the atmosphere a bit "austere". Narcoossees seems to have it all, but it too can get noisy. I think their selection is also more varied. The view is beautiful (overlooking the lake). And you can't beat Narcoossees if you time it to see the fireworks at the MK. Sit at your seat or venture out to the balcony (awesome!!!)..then return to your table for dessert....a perfect night!!!!

We were disappointed with Yachtsman the last time. Which was sad, because it used to be our favorite. Never had a bad meal at Narcoossees. In fact we ate there twice the last time we were at WDW. We are trying FF this time around.

Family of 3 (Grandma, Auntie and a 6yo boy) we all loved Narcoosee's. Grouper special, Surf & Turf(had scallops instead of Turf), Mango smoothie beverage oh my :dance3: yes, its that good and that was just a non alcoholic beverage. My mother literally dropped her jaw a the YOAMD cheesecake dessert, before and after tasting it. We'd return without hesitation. The boat from MK drops you at the dock right outside Narcoossee's, couldn't have been easier to get to.
